Mutilate rogue is not a playable spec here? ( PVP )

Greetings. I'm new to Warmane and decided to relive my youth by playing as a rogue. I always used to play as a Mutilate (Assassination) rogue—their burst damage was always lower than Subtlety, but they were fun to play, and you could easily cut through many armored enemies. However, after playing here for a couple of weeks, I realized that Mutilate rogues feel pretty weak.

Playing as Subtlety, my damage is higher even against warriors, death knights, and paladins—not to mention the superior control. So I wanted to ask if there is any current guide for Mutilate rogues, or is this spec just not viable here?

Right now, my gear score is still quite low (5950), but I see warriors with 5.5k GS dealing twice as much damage as my Mutilate rogue. Maybe there's some special trick with poisons? (I always try to stack x5 Deadly Poison, but sometimes it's too hard.)

mutilate can be good in wotlk. im not sure what the trick is but it definitely can do insane damage, they are able to do heavy consistent dps to plate unlike sub which relies on shadow dance- the problem is their mobility. also you cant compare any class to a warrior with shadowmourne, its just unreal damage.

First problem is that mutilate doesn't scale as good as sub with increasingly better gear, second part is sub just has better overall control, mobility and survivability, but mutilate does excel in pressure with a higher constant damage output similar to a warrior, were's a sub rogue set up burst windows, so depends on comp and playstyle too.
