Switching from Tank to DPS

Hello,

I have 2 tanks around 6k (DK Blood and Prot Pally), and I think I am ready to switch to the DPS role. Probably the most important part is that I am not planning to do ICC/RS HC content, just normal ones. This is why I need some recommendations for the class that will be useful without HC gear. As far as I understood, Mage, Rogue and Warr are shining with BiS gear, while some classes, such as Hunter and Warlock, could do decent damage and be useful for the Raid without BiS gear.

My goal is to be able to kill some World elites solo and be able to farm some materials for professions. The ideal class will not require "try hard" to achieve the mentioned goals. Are you able to recommend such?

you can do pretty much all world content solo with any class.
classes with self heal or pets have a advantage tho.

regarding doing dps.
Just read a guide about your stats en rotation before you step into icc. (Warmane has all guides on the forums.)
A HUGE amount of players on warmane are underperforming because they don't know their class and didn't bother to even read their spells or talents.
Just because of this, I end up doing more damage as higher geared players of the same class.

As for class recommendation, i'd say try playing a ranged dps.
Maybe boomie since you can always go Cat aswell.
Imo Ranged dps tends to be less stressfull to play and you have a easier time doing boss mechanics.
