How long will this server be on TBC? I just downloaded the Lichking version of the game, but I want to play TBC. Before starting, I'd like to know if it will stay on TBC for at least a year.
Also, is it possible to upgrade the TBC character to WOTLK? Or do I have to create a new WOTLK?

Sunwell is out in September. LIkely it switches to wotlk end of year or early next year. There's no exact date for it.
Your TBC character will transition to wrath with the server. It's on a wrath client so you don't have to do anything.

The TBC realm "Onyxia" is TBC content, but on the WOTLK client. Talents etc are as they were in TBC.
Raids are post-nerf TBC.
