I have been playing on the server for several years now and I have just loved it. This is really the first server where the community really makes feel at home, with its trolls and heroes and what not.
I had a little pause on my raiding and pvping to focus more on my job, so I guess I stopped playing for a couple of months.
Apparently I had 3 of my characters deleted during one of the cleanups. I do not really complain since they were lowbie characters, but I had spent so much time on those BoEs that I feel kind of forced to write about it and try to get a solution.
I am not asking for favoritism or better treatment, rules are rules and I totally get why the cleanups happen.
But if there's any possibility of undoing said deletion I would be eternally grateful. Please do let me know how to cooperate in the best manner possible and thank you all for your time and patience :D
My question is why only three? I do not complain of not losing my level 80 main but it's just weird. And they have told me in-game to use the character restoration service, which won't help since the last time I logged in was a while ago.
Because the clean up only affected characters level 50 and under.
Character Restoration only works for manual deletions made from within the account, it would do nothing for those removed due to inactivity.
Since the service offered cannot solve the issue, is there any kind of compensation? I'm not asking for a bunch of gold or whatever since it's super easy to get, but the BoEs took a great deal of time to get. Just asking, don't interpret my questions with frustration; I'm still happy to play on the server.
No, compensation is something companies might offer when an issue or error on their side causes a significant inconvenience. You not playing your characters for years, and being affected by a database clean-up meant exactly to remove abandoned characters, unfortunately doesn't fit that in any way.
