Immediate disconnection from the server after login
Hello, I'm having login issues.
After entering my username and password, I get disconnected when connecting to the servers.
I’ve also tried with a second account — same result.
I can connect to the realms, but when retrieving the character list, I get disconnected.
I’ve already run several tests and I have no issues with my internet connection.
I also tested the client on other servers and had no problems.
Here is the video link where you can see the issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dAb...ew?usp=sharing
I have a very similar issue. After entering username and password, I get to the next page but the game freezes. I am unable to do anything, and must end process through the task manager:
Getting freezes as soon as authentication succeeds and character selection screen shows up.
Tried disabling all addons, re-downloading and running from scratch, and creating and logging from a new account. All to no avail.
For what it's worth, I'm running on a Mac Silicon via Parallels. I even tried updating my OS and Parallels, but it also didn't help. Had been playing using this same setup for the past few months (and even earlier today) without any issues.
I don't think it's related to the processor architecture.
If it helps, I made this change: the WOW.exe file didn't work right after downloading, so I had to set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3, and then it launched without issues.
Anyway, here are my system specs:

Yes your issue seems to be different. When I tried with the Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, it would imediattely say "You have been disconnected from the server" after entering my password. Without the compatibility mode, it would freeze like in my original video posted above. I am guessing our two issues are slightly different.
I installed the client on an old computer and it works.
There might be some issue with newer PCs.
What a mess.
I hope someone finds a solution soon.
See you in-game!
Sifinja, thanks for recording that. I am experiencing the same issue, I have been playing for over a year in this laptop and logged in 6 hours ago and played for an hour or so. When trying to log in now, I am getting the same issue as the one in your recording. I think the development team might've introduced a change that broke our clients. Weird that this post hasn't blown up yet though.
Same issue, I use VMware as a Windows VM. Mac OS M1 Max as a host machine. Never had this problem in a year of playing with this setup, just started having now.
The game freezes right after the character selection screen loads.
Tried clearing cache, downloading fresh client, even reinstalling windows completely, same issues.
same issue for me playing through parallels on m1 mac. My windows update history shows an update that was installed today. might be related?
I'm not sure that windows updates triggered that. My windows updates are turned off tho I started getting this problem today as everybody of you here. Every time I retrieve character's list I get game crash with critical error occured. If I delete cache folder it can help me to enter the game sometimes. Though it just means i'll get game's freeze in random time that forces me to reboot my PC.
Just confirmed it's a Warmane issue, not a Windows update / processor architecture issue.
I updated my realmlist to point to a dead-ish private server I used to play in and I was able to login and play normally. I believe it was a change the development team pushed and deployed today. I hope they see our post soon and revert today's changes.
