Missing a TON of items off AH, 200k+. Mail bug?

I've had a ton of items disappear off the AH, well over 400 auctions, easily 200k+ in flasks and potions. I was going mad, couldnt find them - I thought maybe I mailed to one of my characters and it's just sitting somewhere in limbo.

I logged in today, to find several hundred mail in my AH chars, with attached notes. I am obviously glad to have found the items, but it took well over an hour of monotonous clicking to read all the mail: click the mail, get the item, select delete, next, repeat.

Plain Letter read:
"We recovered a lost item in the twisting nether and noted that it was yours.

Please find said object enclosed."

Anyone else had this happen? Any idea why it happened? My mail was not full, and AH mail doesn't obey the same rules as normal 50 mail slots rules. I've had many times where I've had 500+ items in one toon's mailbox. I've been on warmane something like 6 years and I've never had this happen, and I use the AH A LOT, way more than probably 90% of the server.

Kind of afraid to post to the AH now.

I noticed that too. I listed several ores for sale in the AH, but they disappeared. When I checked my mail, I saw they hadn’t been sold, and when I looked at the auctions tab in the AH, they weren’t there either. In short, they went to the void...
