i would like to know how the loot / in the sense of items dropping is being calculated.
i cant think of a single instance besides maybe battleguard in AQ where we got 3 bages in 4 weeks. besides that all of our items are basicly shop items.
we looted:
Classic:
BWL:
1x DFT
1x Tear
0x Styleens
0x ashkandi
3x bages
0x femures
0x gauntlets of annihilation
1x dark edge
0x deaths bargain
0x leggings of polarity
0x Wraith blade
1x iblis
2x band of unnatural forces
1x eye of the dead
0x slavemaker
0x gressil
0x kingsfall
TBC
1x dst
0x mallets of the tide
1x tsunami
1x vashjbow
0x vestments
0x band of the ranger general
1x leggings of murderous intent
its been 3 hyjal and bt ids. we disenchanted more than 35 items.
archimond loot 2x robes of rhoning
illidan 2x shard of azzinoth and cowl.
and we have been raiding every week whenever the stuff was out till new content dropped or to the very end regarding naxx.
we had 2 atiesh done in vanilla before any other caster dps had a wpn since we had 0 femurs and 0 wraiths blades.
we tried entering on different times, havent different ppl loot and so on and so forth but like i said 3 weeks 35 items disenchanted.
so can you please explain how this stuff is generated?
and btw its not that we just dont get the nice stuff.. we basicly get the same stuff over and over again.
It's just a probability. A percentage. My experience with multiple guilds differed from yours.
For example on an end boss you might have 12 loot options. You're rolling two six sided dice essentially. You hit a 7 and you hit a 4. Next week you hit a 7 and a 9. Over 12 weeks of raiding that instance statistically speaking you are likely to get at least two of a piece, but the way probability works is you may get much less of a piece and a lot of another piece.
So what you've done is you've highlighted your bad luck. I can guarantee you have a similar list for items you had very good luck on even though those items may not have been desirable.

good luck for items that are not desireable.. make it make sense.
0x slippers of the seacaller
but rising tide 50 times
on gurtogg is every week the same disenchanted items, dagger and cloak
illidari council:
2x cloaks of the illidari council
0x madness
we looted on illidan now the following:
1x cowl of the illidari hight lord
1x cursed vision
0x faceplate of the Impenetrable
0x skull of guldan
2x momento of tyrande
0x shroud of the highborne
0x bullwark of azzinoth
0x stormrage signet ring
0x crystal spire of karabor
1x zhar'doom
4X Shard of azzinoth
3X Black Bow the the Betrayer
0x glaives
ALSO THROUGHOUT ALL THE RAIDS we got in total:
1x blessed band of karabor
1x ring of ancient knowledge
like to be quite frank.. WHAT THE **** IS THIS BS?
im not expecting to loot double glaives, zhardoom and skull of guldan every 2nd week
but this is utter bull****. we tried to start the raid with diff. players, also moving in first with diff players, start invites and moving in at different times, having diff ppl looting the bosses.
nothing makes sense and regarding illidans loottable: out of 12 drops we got 2 BAD items 7 times.
You have to be trolling. Probability. I'll demonstrate this. You can roll a 12 sided dice online. I didn't count the same number twice in a row to simulate the loot not dropping twice in the same raid.
CRAZY! I rolled the dice 12 times and half of the numbers never showed up. I think they teach this in middle school math classes. The data doesn't become clear until you've had hundreds and even thousands of iterations which you don't.
Even with "hundreds or even thousands of iterations" it's still bull**** data, because almost every single similar thread is all about anecdotal data. The data doesn't corresponds to the conclusion. Someone always try to clue the ones complaining in, but are ignored.
There is no individual RNG for every player or for every run, it's something global. For every run someone complains they didn't get a drop, dozens others could have happened with different results. RNG doesn't owe you anything, the whatever% drop isn't about you when you want to go into statistics, it will be about every potential drop that has happened. In a very simplified way, if something with a 5% chance hasn't dropped 5% of the time for every single run of the content, now in a large enough sample, you could start to wonder if there was some mistake.
This sort of complain about "my drops" is akin to a "study" saying out of 100 men in a specific neighborhood with the name Jamal all were black, therefore white men don't exist. C'mon, be real.
i see what you are saying. i am interested to how the loost is distributed. the way that it is right now even with such a small sample is almost impossible and even more so to explain.
