No, it lowers the DPS since abilities deal damage based on the main weapon only.
Frost main spec dks, have threat of thassarian talent, which allows them to deal damage with both hands in their abilities. UH spec doesn't benefit from it. So, the answer is no, go for 2h weapons on unholy.
Well i can say that dualwielding unholy is quite viable, may be even better than 2H spec(without shadowmourne) I have 2 DKs. I made one entirely for testing purposes with dualwield unholy. At first it's hard to get a good dps out of it but once you get good at it it has superior AOE and about the same single target DPS (way more on short fights cuz you can get superior snapshots with weapon swaps)
