So was playing Icecrown for long time before I quit. Now want to start on Lordaeron but dont know which dps class is in need. Preferably mdps but don’t know the situation and I know if i play parses good enough all class is well. But I want to learn the most ones in need for raids.
There is few raids and it depends on the guild and how casual or hardcore the run is...
But in lordaeron we can observe something like this if anyone is interested...
If you have "meta" chasing guild then in any run you will find:
<Tanks>
PPaladin (defender / utility reductions etc) / BDK (usually double raid buff talent tree / selfheal) / Bear Druid (Full hp stack / usually main dmg soaker)
<Apparently not good / not taken>
PWarrior (never taken maybe only as offtanking if desperate --- for low lvl content its way better as revenge and thunderclap spam but for endgame its bad i guess so reroll to dps) / FDK (honorable mention that is not used nowdays)
Other exotic builds and weird stuff is not even taken into consideration.
<Healers>
HPaladin (mostly used) / Minimum-Maximum 1 RShaman (for bloodlust) / 1 DPriest / Rest is either RDruids or HPriests whatever your guild likes
Note : There is less HPriests in raids for sure in my experience idk about RDruids... most meta comps dont take more than 1 RShaman / 1 DPriest into runs
<DPS>
Well most popular are <Plate users> ... and if a class is popular then trying to get gear for it gets harder
RPaladins / FWarriors / UDK / FDK
Plate users not taken often or at all : Arms Warrior / Blood DK
<Mail users>
MM Hunter (Most popular) / Survival Hunter (less popular)
Mail users not taken often or at all : BM Hunter / Elemental shaman / Enhance Shaman
Note : Raid leaders prefer to get another hunter than shamans with subpar dps and usually take just 1 Rshaman for bloodlust/heroism and thats it
<Leather users>
CRogue(very popular) / FDruid(less popular - quite hard) / BDruid(very popular) / ARogue(less popular)
Leather users not taken often or at all : Sub Rogue
<Cloth users>
FireMage(very popular) / 1 DemoLock per run / AffliLock / Destro or hybrid (less popular) / ArcaneMage(less popular) / SPriest
Cloth users not taken often or at all : FrostMage
I think that would be something like this ... ofc it depends on the guild and if they allow you to use something or they need something... but if you dont have a guild and you would like to have a spot then dont take pvp specs obviously and keep in mind that Rshamans are the only spec ppl are willing to take intoi core raids... If guild is casual then play whatever you want it doesnt matter
PWarr doesnt have anything special... not huge hp ... no talent to decrease dmg below % afaik ... no real utility... aggro problems (?)
In 80 pve its the worst choice... for pvp idk but i doubt you will go far with that unless you massively outgear your opponents
FWarr is very good pve wise / arms warr is used in war-paladin "meta" comps here in warmane where there is humans everywhere and shadowmourne pvpers.
PWarr is good only for dungeons below i would say lvl 71 and in twinking scenarios.
In order to see pvp in such cases with twinking PWarr search "Allgammon wow" on youtube.
In case of new players i wouldnt go caster gameplay unless you want to play healer later on. The amount of stuns silences and interrupts with shadowmournes is just meh in wpvp and any pvp scenarios.
Ofc the shadowmourne situation varies in servers and in lordaeron server there is 90% less of them but they do exist if someone plays long enough and bothers to play still.
