    New here and a question

hey I am new on the server (Icecrown) I have found levelling up fun although the same problem I keep running into is the constant ganking, I mean continuously and relentlessly over and over again always level 80s. I have played wow for a very long time always on pvp servers and I have never found it quite this intense before.

Just wondering why warmane as such a high volume of trolls. Maybe someone could explain!

I am enjoying the ride but my leveling has been a lot slower because of this.

    thanks x

I really don't know, maybe because the Realm population is way bigger than the servers you used to play so that equals to more people doing it or is it just the weak unskilled Warmane community who go around killing low level players thinking they're somebody. Really there is no actual explanation to that nor a way to solve it so just bare with it

Icecrown is a very popular realm, which means there are tons of players and inevitably, some of them will be griefers who gank low-levels for no reason. You have a few options: you can level in other zones with lower gank rates, ask some PvP players or friends to help you out, or even gear up a PvP character so that next time you’re leveling, you can fight back.

What do you mean there's no reason? There are plenty of reasons to gank.

    1. Territorial Control
    2. Boredom / Entertainment
    3. Roleplaying / Faction Loyalty
    4. Revenge / Payback

In my opinion, options 2 and 4 are the most common reasons.

Coming all the way from Stormwind to Tarren Mill as an Alliance player just to kill low-levels under the excuse of “FOR THE ALLIANCE” isn’t really a valid reason , and the same goes for Horde players traveling from Orgrimmar to Redridge Mountains just to camp lowbies all day.
You listed that this can be done because of "Boredom/entertainment" I guess some people have fun killing lows , a kind of fun that i will never understand .
My point is: I’ve never seen a truly valid reason for a level 80 to kill low-level players. Sure, it’s technically part of the PvP experience, but people still have the free will to choose not to do it, and doing it offers no real reward or value.

It's subjective. Some people don't understand and don't find fun in PVE (imagine fighting against an NPC that is programmed to lose), some don't find PvP enjoyable, and some (like you) don't understand the value of role-playing.

Killing low level players can be actually beneficial. How would you teach them to turn on the brain play more sneaky? Instead of complaining in forums they can accept the lesson.

Blizzard actually has a PvP consent agreement now that you have to agree to twice before entering a PvP realm lol. It really is just a difference in perspective between players.

That can be frustrating sometimes because there isn't always a choice. You follow the population or what is offered. So it's important if you don't like PvP in that way to map out a different leveling path in less contested zones. Like questing in the Hinterlands is actually quite peaceful and pretty good for leveling. Hardly anyone ever goes there.
