im playing on warmane for around a week now.
It feels like the community is very detached.
Multiple languages, people spamming in literally EVERY channel and noone wants to communicate at all.
People in dungeons are horrendously bad at the game and when you call them out, they all get toxic.
I haven't found people to play with so far and there is no guild doing advertisements.
I guess thats because EVERY CHAT CHANNEL gets spammed with some boosting bull****.
All in all i had a bad experience.
Maybe im just having a chain of bad upcomings but this is how the server feels to me at the moment.
Im happy to read something about me being wrong.
/join global
If you haven't already and you'll see increase in guild advertisement, and spam.
If you want to filter out certain languages/messages, or make them less frequent, get addon that filters chat.
A lot of chat/social interaction depends on how you approach the subject. Telling people they suck, need to l2p, are trash, need to get good, etc. isn't going to get a positive reaction out of them.
Dungeons are meh anyway. There's no need to be super strategic about them if the group isn't wiping or dying constantly.

Sometimes it's just a matter of bad luck, bgs and pve.
Every now and then, however, you find good and calm players who appreciate advice.
About the same, most people don't talk, there's a few who are kind of talkative, but often feels like they just want to end the convo as soon as possible.
During leveling, I've noticed the more responsive people tend to be the ones that go with 1x XP, those who just rush rush tend to also be anisocial.
I don't know if Global chat is a good idea, honestly, just puts all the adverts and LFGs and all that in one, now nobody needs LFG, Trade, or General chat...
It's not detached believe me. it's just that you haven't found the right people or the right place, join a guild, hang out outside major cities (not dalaran, its just a place for u to find raids and bunch of other stuff" try to engage into conversations yourself I've been playing for 2 years and never had any moments where i felt lonely, so its not the community part its just that you're not lucky.
As i mentioned, join a guild you'll find people to talk to for sure.

I have also noticed this and to be honest I have never understood all this rush, this frenzy in doing things that then leads them to fail, to die, to start again and by doing so they don't realize that they waste more time and stress others players.
That has nothing to do with our servers, it's just how MMOs are. Dungeons are generally boring, after you do them a couple times they become just a chore. Most people do them either for dailies or in hopes of some drop, not really because they find it fun and exciting. The faster it's over with, the faster they can go do what they actually want to do, which is perfectly understandable. Some might be chattier, but there should be no expectation of people being like that when most of them just want to be done with it as fast as possible.

It's true, dungeons are boring due to its repetitiveness, but if you stop for a while, the next few times will be less tedious.
But beyond that, it also depends on the attitude of the players and if you start that you want to finish as soon as possible, it becomes an even more annoying thing to do.
Personally, I prefer not to do them at all, try to get some achievements, do other things and if necessary stop for a quite some time.

The dungeons might be the same, but the people aren't, and communicating with other people is what MMORPGs are all about, if you don't chat, why even bother with this genre?

This is also true.
Typing in chat, communicating a little, making some witty jokes as long as it's not offensive makes what you are doing less boring and a little more fun.

No, MMOs are about playing the game with other people. That's all. Communicating isn't a necessity barring on the hardest content or on anything that decidedly requires coordination, and even then it doesn't require chit-chatting. You personally wishing it was about that doesn't make it so for anyone else - and trust me, many, many, many people wish they could do group stuff solo.

It's Random Dungeon Finder, not Random Friend Finder.
While some level of basic communication could be nice, it's not even necessary. I'd imagine people appreciate quicker runs and some "gg/ty/bb" at the end over an extended stay because people wanted to yap.

Hell how serious you are, but I understand your point of view even if I don't think the same way.
It's true that there are times when you need to concentrate at least a little, but they are still dungeons.
In quieter moments, talking and joking a little makes the repetitiveness of the thing more bearable.

I'm quite casual actually. I'm fine with slow tanks, I'm fine with weak DPS, if wipe happens it happens. Ofc I communicate if needed or if there's something I want to ask/state. Most of the RDF chat is about "can I have X?" or "can we do X achievement?" anyway, which is hardly much.

I do not understand people who go out of the way to play an MMORPG, and then ask for solo everything, talking to each other comes with playing with each other, at least that's how it used to be, and it surprises me that the people playing a server from when being social was the norm.. aren't being social. I feel like player mentality is part of what made classic so liked, the game pushed people to work together, and thus talk to each other, I'm not the biggest fan of Random Group Finder, and especially not of cross-realm in retail. Maybe I should look for a guild, but with so many of them focused on endgame...
