1. need details about ninja rules

    Hi everyone,

I need some clarifications about ninja rules.
I play as a tank (prot warrior lvl 76) and just rolled on that piece of gear:

    Plate Claws of the Dragon
    Item Level 175
    Binds when picked up
    Hands Plate
    1247 Armor
    +55 Strength
    +51 Stamina
    Durability 45 / 45
    Requires Level 75
Equip: Improves hit rating by 43
    Dropped by: Cyanigosa

    link to the piece:
    https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=3...-of-the-dragon

It was clearly an upgrade to my gear as I had an old green item in that slot, quite all stats modifications were green on the compare tooltip

    Now my question is:

Hit rating being helpful to improve hit ratio and maintain better aggro
Do you think my roll was justified ? or do you consider (like a dps warrior in my group) that it was a ninja ?
If I am right, it is a justified roll, but if it is not, I will need some details on how to know if I can roll on a piece of gear or not.

PS: Please, I really need a moderator/GM answer to this question to avoid future problems.

    Thanks.

  2. Open an in-game ticket to ask a GM.

imo that's ninjaing since those hands do not have any tank stats.

  3. If you're still leveling? Yes, fine to roll.

Once you're 80? No, not fine since it doesn't provide anything actually required as a tank.

Reason: Below 80 you're going to replace items in a couple days anyways and it's not like anyone is chasing required caps for raiding at ilvl175. Unless it's extremely obvious like there's int on it it's (imo) fine.

But that's just how i'd view it. Your role in a group is only really set at 80. Before that things are sort of moving because it's just for exp and not for spots in a raid.

  4. Yes, at lvl 80 i would look for my BIS (with mitigation stats on them)

But the question I have in mind right now (the one I need a GM/mederator answer to) is:

Could I be banned if reported for rolling need on this item during leveling ?

  5. If you need an answer, open an in-game ticket. GMs don't reply to threads in the forums and forum moderators do not apply the ninja policy.

If that player reported you then you can also wait to see if you get banned or not (should take a couple of days).

  6. okok,

I will open a ticket ingame

  7. Hit rating being helpful to improve hit ratio and maintain better aggro
This is true as long as you're NOT hit capped, so equipping an item with hit rating to reach said cap and not miss hits or taunts would actually be an improvement for you.

Other than that, this is one of those few "grey items". Does it also give you more armor and stamina than your current item? If yes, then you're fine. If no, I'd just leave it for the dps to roll, or take it if none such classes exist/nobody minds me taking it.

  8. okok,

I will open a ticket ingame
    Let us know the answer.

It's not a definitive DPS item as it doesn't come with AP/crit/haste/arp.
Tank also needs Hit, but it doesn't come with dodge, parry, block, Block Value, or defense rating.

It should be treated to be MS for both.

If tanks are supposed to roll on items with defensive stats only, at what point it should be done, because for the early, Idk, 58 levels, there's hardly any tank items then.

  9. Maybe it's time to apply stricter bans, because it seems to me that despite all these "ninjas" they continue to do what they want and they only laugh at their punishments.

Not the 'clear' answer I hoped but whatever XD. I wont risk my account safety on gambles.
I will just consider any piece of gear without mitigation stats as 'NOT for ma specialization' as a tank and I should be good.
If the heal struggles to keep me alive or if I can't keep aggro because of low gear, not my problem anymore ;)
    It's only temporary anyway...

Then you just go about it like in my post. Either let the dps roll it or communicate it with everyone and make sure it's ok to roll it.

I think the way your ticket is phrased, that was going to be answer.
I assumed you would've asked more specific question, something like: "Can I need [this specific item] as a tank?" or more like if item such as that with hit as the only substat, is it supposed to be considered only as a DPS item only, or can a tank roll as well.

  13. Gm reply : yes need dps items as tank if every dps that use that type of items agree
    Its simple. If no
Roll only for your spec items
