Frostmourne still has the realm firsts and so listen for each season for example, and I think thats a great thing too

Why did you focus on TBC for so many years, when I saw TBC die instead of making a fresh server for Mist of Pandaria and bringing back a population of 5000-6000 people in 1 month and after a year merging the fresh server with Frostwolf, you decide to take drastic measures to close it down. How did you not understand that population makes people play a given realm?
the mop private servers dont even have close to those numbers, never have never will. Mop is not a expansion the majority of people want to play. (No you are not a majority)
Blizzard is currently underway merging classic mop servers because the playerbase is drasticly dropping.
TBC died because just like Frostwolf it was fully progressed and people are not very interested in playing tbc once its fully progressed + the 2.4 client is beyond garbage.
The request was shared with the rest of the Staff a couple days ago, but I don't think there's a final decision on it.
In 2015-16 this Realm had a population of 3000++ people it is not impossible to achieve again like 90% of people who are like me playing the boring wotlk
they would start MOP instantly. It's just that back then you didn't spend time fixing problems and the population decreased dramatically due to bugs.
Dear Warmane Team,
We, the undersigned players of Frostwolf, are writing in response to the recent announcement regarding the decommissioning of the Frostwolf realm (official forum thread ID: t=479879). Many of us have been part of this community for years — some since as early as 2016 — investing significant amounts of time, effort, and in many cases real financial support and emotional commitment in developing our characters, guilds, and in-game achievements.
With the closure of Frostwolf approaching, we respectfully request that you consider offering additional options for long-term players, as a gesture of recognition for our loyalty and contributions over the years. Specifically, we would like to propose the following:
1. Character / Asset Transfer
• Full transfer of characters from Frostwolf to an active realm (e.g., Onyxia), including level, gear, and core achievements; or
• If a full transfer is not feasible, allow at least the migration of characters with level and basic equipment.
2. Refund / Compensation of Coins and Contributions
• Provide refunds or credits for coins collected and spent not only in 2025, but during the entire active period (2016–2025), or offer equivalent compensation in the form of account credits or bonus services.
3. “Preservation Pack” Option
• A special package for long-term players (e.g., max-level boost + selected core items/achievements) as recognition of loyalty and continuity.
4. Migration Support and Transparency
• Clear instructions, timeline, and technical support from the Warmane team to ensure a smooth migration and to prevent loss of assets or account progress.
To support our request, we are prepared to provide:
• Lists of characters/accounts with dates of activity (2016–2025)
• Screenshots, logs of purchases, and proof of in-game and financial investment
• Any additional evidence of our long-standing commitment to the server
We are not seeking conflict, but rather a fair and transparent solution that honors the time and effort invested by thousands of players over nearly a decade. We would greatly appreciate a public and/or personal response clarifying:
• What options will be available for character transfer and compensation
• Specific timelines and procedures
• A contact person/team we can coordinate with for individual cases
Thank you very much for your attention, and we sincerely hope for a fair resolution that will benefit both Warmane and its loyal community.
Why compensate only this year , how about us player and donator from 2015 up we should get some coins also. It is sad to see Frostwolf being close I love this server:C
Sad to see FW being closed, been a player since it was launched, though through the years past due to work I now barely played the games but If i have free time I played this server, I also do some donations much better to get some coins also even I only active playing this month of this year due to work. I may not login during its closure to retrieved the boost to other realm, but hopefully to get some coins for me to start to other realms if ever i have time to play.
I know you people have made up your mind about it, but like what's the cost of keeping it up? maybe if you share that burden with us, some of us can help match it and keep it alive? It'll help you and it'll be of help to us who still want to keep playing on it. Like we can help cover some of the cost together? If you can extend a little bit of time and also tell us the whole thing transparently, I think a lot of people might be willing to pay just to play on this realm. Although I'm speaking for myself, but I'd definitely like to see what you staff members think? Or is it something you just don't want to take on as a project at all?
A lot of players are annoyed or sad or angry even, maybe that all can help warmane in the long run? And that would help all your current/future projects. Win-win for everyone. Assuming players and staff is willing for this.
I noticed a lot of negative comments before so I don't mean to annoy or argue. Just a suggestion if it makes sense to you all.
damn sad news, used to play mop a lot
btw i've spent +300 coins on Frostwolf when i was active, mostly on mounts. Its there any chance i can get back at least a % of it? I mean it wasnt this year but the spent was there lol, it will be sad to know all that just fades
Dear Warmane Team,
I am writing to you as a long-standing member of the Warmane community, and more specifically as a dedicated Frostwolf player. I was deeply saddened to learn of the recent announcement regarding Frostwolf’s decommissioning. Over the years, Frostwolf has not only been a realm to play on, but also a place where friendships were built, memories were created, and a true sense of community thrived.
For many of us, Frostwolf represents more than just a server. It is the result of countless hours of dedication—both from the players and from your team—that has created a unique environment unlike any other. From leveling journeys to raids, and the social bonds formed along the way, Frostwolf has been a second home to many devoted players who invested their time, energy, and passion.
I understand that maintaining servers requires resources and that difficult decisions must be made for the health of the entire Warmane project. However, I kindly ask you to reconsider Frostwolf’s fate, or at least explore alternative solutions such as:
Allowing community input or fundraising efforts to support server costs.
Providing an option for character transfers to a similar realm to preserve the time and progress and acheivement invested.
Considering seasonal or event-based reactivations of Frostwolf if permanent hosting is no longer viable.
Even if the final decision is unchanged, providing a clear path for Frostwolf players to preserve their efforts and experiences would mean a great deal to us.
On behalf of myself and many others who feel the same, I thank you for the years of joy Frostwolf has brought us and respectfully ask that you take our voices into account. The community that has grown around Frostwolf is a testament to your team’s success in creating something special, and it would be heartbreaking to see it disappear without every possible avenue explored.
WDF !!! I make my char`s before 20 year`s ago and now you tell me (Frostwolf will be officially decommissioned) i stop playing on warname!!!!!!
I'm sorry to say, but unfortunately we can't offer support to players who began playing on Frostwolf years before it even existed.
