1. Fair punishment for ninja looting in raids.

    Hello,
I believe the proper punishment for ninja looting in raids should be account termination.

There is a fundamental difference between ninja looting in dungeons and in raids. In dungeons, many new players lack the game knowledge and may ninja loot by accident, for example, melee DPS rolling on tank gear because they see it as an upgrade.

Raids, however, are an entirely different matter. There has never been a case where a raid leader accidentally ninja looted an item. Every case of raid ninja looting was a deliberate choice with a full intent to steal loot. Raid leaders are fully aware of the rules, calculate the risk of getting banned, and yet still decide to do it.

This should lead to fair and strict consequences. Implementing account termination as the punishment for ninja looting in raids would drastically reduce its occurrence.

  2. That's never going to happen.

In the end of the day, this so often overlooked line in the rules for reporting remains the ultimate fact: "GMs should NOT be your shield against ninjas. Please bear in mind that this will not stop all ninjas and it's your best intent to take measures yourself and avoid suspicious raids, especially when leaders refuse to explain looting rules."

Our GMs already go beyond what was done even in retail, where there was no punishment for it. There comes a point where you have to own up to your decision of joining a random PuG you know nothing about and putting yourself at the risk of it happening.
