Harrased While Multiboxing

So, I was lvling up a little bit ago... and some dude killed me, then proceeded to camp me with multiple clients, calling me "a disgusting mboxer" and other nonsense Like I was a disgusting human for multiboxing or something lol.... does anyone else ever have problems like this? he was literally camped on both factions, on multiple clients, shaming me for mboxing....and not letting me resurrect... kinda blew my mind... just curious if anyone else has problems like this ever with being harrased just for Questing while mboxing.... I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but ty.

Doesn't surprise me at all and that is something you can probably expect. Multiboxing is probably the most complained about thing aside from ganking.

By that logic you would also have to hate all the level 80 players because some very few of them keep ganking low levels.

Like everywhere there are people that behave like *******s and there are people who are nice.
Unfortunately the *******s seem to get more attention in the memory of most.
Usually not every mb's aim is to attack players and bully them.
On the other hand I don't know what the threadstarter did before he got harrassed.
There are a lot of mb like me who just want to mind their own business and do dungeons and quests and don't attack players exept for defending. On contrary, I even offer help when I see someone needs it.
I mb so I can run dungeons at my own (very slow) velocity and because multiboxing is a fun playstyle for me.
And to the threadstarter, don't let it get to you too close if someone offends you.
People who insult you just for the reason of you multiboxing, without you ever having done anything to them, are maybe even mentally of a similar kind as the multiboxer who keeps ganking players just for pleasure. They are just looking for a cheap opportunity of letting out their hate on something or someone.
Until now I met both kinds of people.
Some were insulting me, but I also had a lot of very nice conversations with people showing interest, someone of the opposit faction once even helped me with a difficult quest :)
I do try to avoid people on the open though and mostly do dungeons or quests where there are not so many other players.

The playerbase of Warmane is quite toxic. Many no lifers who will insult you on a personal level because they have no joy in life.
Best thing to deal with it is to have a long ignore list and to only interact with a hand selected number of ppl. This is a good advice for multiboxers but also for regular players.

Yes, that's bound to happen.

You put it in context by mentioning you were levelling up and questing and multiboxing. Don't worry, you definitely posted on the right forum for fellow multiboxers. I've never experienced it myself because I always powerlevel my characters with my main running them through dungeons away from other players. For other players that don't multibox, they see us multiboxers as a bit of a mystery, an anomaly, and to the guy that harrassed you, a future threat.

Most likely your harrasser from "a lil bit ago" got harrassed or trampled in the past by pvp-multiboxers, perhaps many times in WS and in BG. Then saw you, a levelling multiboxer, and sought to harass you while you were weak.

Just out of curiosity, will you multibox dungeons/raids, or are you a PvP multiboxer? Coz if you're a PvP one, you will hold your own and start defeating individuals many times in battles, and again and the cycle will continue (ie... the soloists will see future levelling multiboxers and get them while they are weak).

That aside, ganking isn't by far the only way multiboxers hinder/inconvenience/overwhelm other players.

Sadly it isn't wrong that multiboxing does cause strain on the server.

Even if the most people affected are those who are victim of ganking or the PvP aspect side of things. There's also a slight economical aspect to it on top of it.

I feel like there's a core people who multibox, that aren't the ones causing the biggest strain on people / the servers health. But rather those who wished to be stomping on people and using multiboxing as a tool to do it with.

I know that's slightly splitting hairs, and perhaps I'm wrong with it (majority of people's inspiration has probably stemmed from other PvP boxers). Regardless of that, there's a big part of me who doesn't like the aspect of boxing in PvP environments at all, because of the issues it creates, the hate towards an already niche community / hobby, no matter how intriguing the topic might be.

Ehh mehh, just hoping that they aren't ruining a good thing by people getting too much of it. And to hoping if down the years they make changes to boxing like they did back in the day, it wouldn't affect every approach (mainly the instanced kind for selfish reasons).

Don’t try and make sense of her comments, Obnoxious has long hated on multi-boxers, she always will.
It’s fine, her power here as a moderator, is restricted to forum bans. Don’t break the rules and that takes her power away. Just understand she’ll always have a condescending comment, and try to belittle you and your play style. It’ll be fine. Ie.. don’t threaten, insult, or say profanities. Once you realize that, her comments are comical.

What you don’t mention is the help boxers have provided (most likely because people don’t whine about that….), there has been many times I’ve loaded up my farm team and helped lower geared players run through 5 mans, over and over, giving them ALL the loot, so they don’t have to roll for it. Not looking for a pat of the back, but I’ve done that more times than I can count. Just don’t think it doesn’t go on. I’ve help many players.

Ganking is part of the game, always have been. The hindrance is anything a player perceives as slowing down their game progress. Anything annoys a player. Again game mechanics can be a perceived hindrance.

On the contrary.... in my line of work, the chaotic nature of discussion is how problems get solved.

I rarely have people agree with me, sometimes I'm wrong, sometimes I'm right and have the best idea. I never take it to heart.

I was simply replying to her accusation that I somehow used it. I rarely if ever do, and haven't here....I'm not sure why you'd think I don't know the difference....

Her reply style is consistent to the way she always respond. I know that, the nature of that account, the name of that alter-ego was chosen for that reason. I'd wager it's account that is an alternate to someone (or more than one) that allows you to say what you wouldn't on your main account.

I will say that I don't mind being someone that other players like or despise, I almost always play by myself these days. I've donated more than 90% of the server, past or present, I would bet so I'm indifferent at this point in time.
