Quest drop rates

So im lvling a nelf druid and doing some quests in darkshore but the drop rates are sooo low, im literally 2 hours in on a quest where i need to collect some pendants and i only got 4/7. Is it supposed to be like this? I havent played TBC for ages but I dont remember the drop rates being so low.
