Hi, this isn’t an angry or accusatory post, which is why I’m removing the name of the GM who replied to me. I just want to know if what I’m asking for is unfair to other players, technically difficult, or something against the rules.
Also, it’s true that in the last few tickets I’ve sent over the past few months—whenever I’ve had an issue, bug, or missclick (which, obviously, has always been my fault)—I’ve also asked through an in-game ticket, and the response has always been the same as now: a copy-paste reply. Here’s an example of one of my tickets. Like I said, let me know if I’m asking for too much or if things just don’t work that way on this server. I’m coming from the official server, where this kind of issue used to be resolved quickly, so maybe I’m the one who’s wrong for asking for it here.
Hi, I accidentally disenchanted my cloak while I was trying other ones for transmog because I didn’t realize I was still wearing the transmogged one. The "Perfectly Balanced Cape" was a quest reward and for a twink there’s no better option. It’s from the quest “Heart of Rage” in Hellfire Ramparts, so I also can’t buy it with coins. Is there any way to reset the quest so I can do it again? Thanks.
Game Master (GM) Response:
Hello,
Unfortunately we are unable to assist you with your issue as we do not provide support for such cases.
Kind Regards,

GM's don't offer restoration of lost items unless it's quite important/powerful* in the end-game, e.g. Ashen Verdict ring in WotLK. You did an oopsie and while it's unfortunate, GM's won't help you in this case.
EDIT: *Items that can only be obtained once, not some random boss loot.
Yes, you’re right, there really isn’t a problem. I bought another one with coins. I didn’t want to invest more, but I deleted the cape myself, not a GM xD
I’m not going to be a hypocrite and cry over a cloak when I can simply donate like I usually do and buy a similar one, although I wasn’t planning to donate anything else for now.
The post is more to get an idea of what kind of problems GMs actually solve. Since the server is Blizzlike, I thought they would fix these types of things the same way they do on retail.
Like I said, it’s not a big deal anyway. Still, if anyone wants to give me more information about what kind of things are resolved, I’d like to know.
Thanks.
edit:upssss that is my alt account, but im the same guy xD

Unpopular opinion, but I really hate the double standard here.
I also highly doubt that anyone could accidentally lose their Ashen Verdict ring — you can’t vendor it, only destroy, and no one destroys BiS ring by mistake.
Most of the “lost ring” cases are clearly people who bought a character from the store without the ring and then asked a GM to restore it.
Like, seriously? Just buy a character with the ring, or donate for it afterward.
The thing with the ring is that you are supposed to be able to talk to the NPC who gives it to you to get another copy, but that doesn't work here.
No, you should only be able to exchange your current Ashen Verdict ring for an upgraded one or switch to a different path but not obtain a new ring. The "Choose Your Path" quest can only be completed once, and "Change Your Heart" requires your previous ring. This is intended, not a bug.

Yes, I think you are right. Even though people in wowhead mention an option to get your ring back, the comments are from much later patches.
This comment says that you could ask a GM to get your ring back, which to me means there's a high chance that the NPC offered no such option, because why would you ask a GM unless the NPC didn't offer to give you another copy of the ring?

There's a considerable Coin cost to consider.
30 coins - and talk to GM to get the ring.
30 coins + 23 coins from buying it from store.
48 coins if you buy a character equipping it.
What if the character being sold has wrong version of the ring? What if you don't even know which version of the ring the character has, if it's not equipped?
