Is it possible you already have another action bound to shift+whatever? For example, you bound that macro to 1, but you already have another action bound to shift+1.
Is that based on visible action bars, or did you check keybinds settings?
Any luck if you try Hand of Protection?
Yes, you want a shift modifier for your macro to remove Blessing of Protection / Hand of Protection depending on game version, while having your regular macro key casting an enhancement shaman ability called Stormstrike.
If you play on Icecrown, there's no "Blessing of Protection" skill to cancelaura of. There is, however, Hand of Protection.
I think shift-2 by defaul is bound to some pet function like stay, which would be active even if your class does not have pets. Which is why I said you should look at the list of keybinds.
