  2. why circle, 1vs1 arena idea is trash

    1) PILLARS! 90% of fight its just kite beetwen offencive CD's
    i played as destro, facing retri, he tactic is - HoJ > burst > kite, HoJ > burst > kite... BOORING! same with rogues without cloak, and classes with similar spells
    >>> solution - duels need open world pvp imitation, random open area location with duel flag, without opportunity to poly>100 meters kite>drink, poly>100 meters kite>drink

    2) CD's spam. how to win destro as unh dk? just use cd,s rotation 1>2>3>4>5>GG. gorgoyle > pet stun > anti magic > silence > anti stun/fear > GG

    absence 5-10 min's CD's in 2-3 round give me atleast chance to win
    (I'll go out a little off topic, my favorite BG's moment its when people fight me 3 vs 1 , i use shadowfury, and all 3 of them use pvp trinket, sweet)

    3) no rewards for 1vs1 rating. all gear requires 2v2 3v3 soloQ rating
    its just remove any sence to play 1vs1 mode

    maybe we need class/spec locked ladder. like a if you cant climb into 2k because only hybrid dk's and pregs around. your placement in ladder calculate only between other destro warlocks. you still fight against all other classes, but rating requirment for items - calculated depends of destro ladder.

    I get your points, but removing pillars just creates a different kind of imbalance. If you turn 1v1 into an open field duel zone, some matchups become completely unplayable. A Ret vs Frost Mage or a Frost Mage vs MM Hunter in pure open field is basically a guaranteed loss with zero counterplay. At least pillars give both melee and ranged some room to work with.

    And let’s be honest: even 2v2 and 3v3 the actual competitive formats aren’t balanced either. There are tons of hard-counter comps, free wins, and unwinnable matchups. So expecting open-field 1v1 to magically become fair is unrealistic.

    Using normal arena maps with LOS makes way more sense. WoW PvP has always been designed around pillars; removing them only pushes class balance even further off.

    The “endless duel” problem (like tank vs tank) is easy to handle anyway: add a time limit. If a matchup goes longer than ~10 minutes, it ends as a draw and nobody gains or loses rating.

    1v1 will never be perfect, but standard arena maps + a time limit is far more playable than an open-field kite/chase simulator.
