I have no concrete information but I personally suspect NetEase pressured warmane's payment processor to cut ties with them for certain reasons.

Though I do believe in Warmane's ability to do whatever sleuthing is necessary to keep this gray market product running, as they have successfully done in the face of every roadblock thrown at them for many years in the past, IF China is entering the fray it wouldn't be such a bad idea to create one of those encrypted backups now on your account page, imo.

Take everything I've just said with a massive grain of salt because I have no actual info on the situation.

I have a similar take on it, but it being chinese investors that are the reason blizz/netease are pushing against warmane.
