Are "WotLK Classic" and "WotLK 3.3.5" the same thing?
It's a very simple question. Since I recently returned to playing the game on the Warmane server, I'm looking for content/guides, etc. on various things. However, when I search "wow wotlk /anyting-here/" I always find content referencing not the 2010 game, but the relaunch on the official classic server.
My question is: can I use the information/guides from this content for our game?
There have been many changes from 3.3.5 to classic. Some guides will be valid whilst others will be useless. You should refer to 3.3.5 guides when possible.
The majority of it is the same. Classic was actually based off of 3.3.5.
Things to look out for is Naxx isn't buffed here like it was on Classic. Ulduar gear won't be buffed like it was on Classic. RDF is available on start and doesn't have special protocol dungeon modes with bonus loot/currency. Cooldowns won't reset on boss wipe/kill. Season 4 PvP gear isn't available for honor.
Boss guides, talents, gearing, leveling and all that should be similar. Just TOC phase gearing might look weird because of the Ulduar buffed gear if you're looking at BIS lists and such.
Original and classic are not the same even on retail. Original retail and private servers are also not the same, though the basics are pretty much identical they differ in some technical stuff. You can use stuff like 9/10 times.
