Greetings Warmane community,
With a new year now upon us, we're taking the opportunity to do an inactivity cleanup that will refresh our realms and free up forgotten names, the cleanup will target a wider range of character levels this year, we will also conclude a 50% gold squish at the same time to promote a healthier economy.
The inactivity cleanup and gold squish will be conducted and completed on February 16, 2026 08:00. Downtime is expected to be multiple hours.
- Level 1 and above characters that have not been played since January 2025 will have their names removed.
- Characters will have the opportunity to choose a new name upon the next login.
- Level 1 - 50 characters that have not been played since July 2025 will be removed.
- Premium accounts are exempt from removals.
- Characters that are guild masters will result in the guild being removed.
Characters that have their name removed will have the opportunity to select a new name upon the next login.
The gold squish means that every piece of gold that exists in circulation, be it in the character's inventory, mailbox, guild bank, website trading system or otherwise, will be simply halved. Exactly as it was done last year too.
Onyxia will be excluded from this year's squish and cleanup.

if you don't log in your toons, you lose the name, then after a while they get deleted.

It happens every year, every February. If you're new to warmane, understandable you couldnt know, but you're playing an MMO. surely you've ran into people playing this server for years? you guys dont talk about server related events?
Even if, if you've been here less than a year, assuming thats why you dont know about this, i doubt you much of value that would be greatly affected by this.
also.. what would you have done different if they announced this 1-2 months in advance, that you couldnt have done in a week? or even a day? personally cant think of anything

not really... first time i experienced gold squish i learned that few minutes after gold squish...
i had a luck i clicked on news in forum (first time), coz i expected to be it on homepage.
And i would do exactly what iam doing... i'll spend every single gold to buy mats :)
