1. [Addon] BattleGroundBalance

    Hi!
    I've made this little addon:

    BattleGroundBalance



    Features
    • Shows proportional bars of total damage and healing done by each faction, to help visualize overall BG balance.
    • Displays the number of damagers and healers per faction (requires BattleGroundHealers v1.4).
    • Shows the highest honorable kills reached by a player in each faction, as a representative value for the team.

    Slash Commands
    • /bgb move : Toggles frame lock/unlock.
    • /bgb scale <#> : Sets frame scale (0.5 to 2).

  3. It's as good as it looks. I have to ask: the frame is not interactable, so why not make it so it can be clicked through?

  4. It would be interesting if it also showed the balance of teams using CCs and interrupts as a further breakdown of the situation. I once started making an addon to turn CCs, interrupts and dispels into a scoreboard but lost interest and didn't finish it.

    That's a good point! Thanks for the suggestion. The frame is now click-through by default and only becomes interactive when unlocked for dragging.

    That's interesting.

    Initially BattleGroundBalance was designed to give a simplified overview of BG performance, just enough to help you notice when your team might be underperforming and consider adjusting your strategy accordingly (since winning doesn’t just depend on having a stronger team). Of course, the real balance involves many more factors like CCs, interrupts, cooldowns, etc. — just like in any other PvP game (referring to stuff beyond the actual BG objectives, which are already shown by the game or common addons).

    It's definitely interesting to expand in that direction too, but I feel like adding that kind of information as general faction-wide resources could get a bit messy or overwhelming. It might be better suited as an extension of BattlegroundTargets, with features similar to BattleGroundEnemies from retail: like tracking trinkets, defensive cooldowns, or CC usage. That would be a really nice project; I might explore it in the future if time allows.

    Thanks for the suggestion. HKs are intentionally shown as a numeric value rather than a bar — it gives a clearer contrast to the damage/healing bars and prevents the display from looking too repetitive. I prefer to keep this design.

  10. If you open the scoreboard and open the Alliance/Horde tab, only the stats for that faction are shown. If you close the scoreboard like that, the data stays wrong.

    Hi! That’s a fair point, it’s definitely debatable. Personally, I lean more toward showing the highest HK from someone in the faction, since it feels like a more tangible reflection of the overall fight. Using an average could get confusing, especially considering how common it is for players to leave unbalanced battlegrounds.
    I think I’ll keep it this way for now, but I really appreciate the idea!
