    Lordaeron okay for new players?

Hey i just started on Warmane an hour ago, i see lordaeron is fully progressed and im wondering are there any new player friendly / social / casual guilds? I started on the Alliance. Would love to join a band of socials while rediscovering wotlk now that ive more time to play.

It is actually your best pick as a new player. Onyxia being the second option, but the fact that it is in the last stretch of expansions, might be uninteresting for you. Icecrown and Blackrock are mostly for seasoned players.

If you ever played Wotlk or you know WoW I think Onyxia is a great choice. Server is at Ulduar and you will see plenty of Naxx, OS etc. still going on. I believe there will be time for you to grind to max level before Argent Tournament and higher XP rates are quite nice to have imo.

Why is the "Hardcore buffed raiding content" for new players, and the original unbuffed content for "seasoned players"?

It's not really that hard anymore, compared to when the realm launched. Lordaeron gives players the closest authentic experience to new players, due to 1x experience rate, decent population, no gear shop and somewhat tuned content that just gives a bit more of a rewarding feeling when you clear it.

Besides what Aerophd said, with the slow leveling you might experience everything with no sense of rush. Icecrown is focused on end game. Sure you can play it normally and even reduce the xp speed, but the endgame is where most people are at in Icecrown.

Welcome to the server and steel your nerves trying to level up as an alliance. The only problem i would say you will meet, is the huge amount of horde players devastating you till you reach higher levels. It is very common to see many raids from 80 level hordes farming you and corpse camping you. My advise would be to avoid high populated times and you will have fun exploring the world of Lordaeron!

That's not true, not so many ppl are leveling anymore and you rarely meet horde.
I could count all pvp encounters during leveling on my two hands.
