Windows 11 compatibility

Hi ppl!

Is the client considered fully Windows 11 compatible?

I am not sure if I am dumb or whatever - I cannot connect.

The client is from the download link, I have found on the topic Tehcnical Guides / Technical FAQ [2025-4-18] / WRATH OF THE LICH KING / "Warmane web download button does not work (torrent download)" section / first magnet link.

The OS is windows 11 pro 64 bit, I am admin on the system.

The install folder is "D:gameswarmane", not on the system drive or in a spec folder.

The Wow.exe is set for admin mode. Read-only flags are out. Wow.exe is set as exclusion from virus protection, and the whole WoW folder is set as exclusion. Under WTF folder, "Config.wtf" sets back the ( SET realmlist "logon.warmane.com" ) line to ( SET realmlist "logon.warmane.ru" ) every single time I exit from the client. Not sure, why.

I am using the name and password as login credential. Does not work. After "Connecting" for a while, it ends in "Unable to connect".

If anyone can pinpoint the problem based on these, please, do.

It's completely compatible, but the realmlist you have to change is in the Data\enUS folder. The one in WTF\Config.wtf gets rewritten every time you start the client.

Thx, that was the issue. I can connect now and enter the world.

You can just delete the realmlist.wtf it's not even used in WotLK.
Only the line found in config.wtf is.
