My friend was found hanging less than two weeks ago. Her funeral was on Thursday; the church was packed- not everyone had a seat because so many people turned up to honour her memory, there was not room for everyone, how could anyone so amazing, lovely and so well loved, feel so alone?

The media are outside her house now, and have been for the past few weeks, taking pictures of her house, interviewing her parents, and opening sealed letters her friends and mine, and I, have written to her in honour of her memory. Private letters, letters which should have been left unopened, they have taken pictures of these letters and have included lines in their articles- all this disrespect for a story. The media won't let her family come to terms with her passing with their continuous invasion of privacy, and they won't allow her to rest in peace, their attitudes towards her passing are ****ing disgraceful and everything they've written about her disgusts me because they've twisted the truth, nothing they have said has any truth in it. Whatever faith and hope I had in the media and in humanity, if I had any left, is gone.

Don't read or buy the Daily Mail, they ****ing suck.

I personally prefer other activities, like going to a movie, watching football or simply going out to have a coffe is what I use to socialize with my friends. I literally avoid them when they want to go out with me to a party, since most people have the attitude of "if you can remember the evening, it was a bad one".

The only times I drink are new years and birthdays, even at those times I would only drink very little. It's like smoking to me, I never saw the point of it.

Drinking ≠ Partying

I personally hate partying, going to clubs. I would rather have a nice evening with my friends, drinking a beer and having a good time. The thing is, I dislike most other drinks. Coffee makes me sick, I never drink soda like Cola, I don't really enjoy cocktails. The only think I like is tea but there are better times to drink tea, like when I want to be alone.

Drinking to feel good, in small doses and socially is a great way to relax, loosen up, socialize. If you are not socially awkward, you can even befriend and meet new people.

Mindlessly drinking and getting drunk and acting stupid, yeah. In that case drinking is bad.

I can and do perform those things without drinking. It is a psychological depressant regardless of what you are doing.

Depression is a real problem for many people. I don't refer to getting sad because people treat you bad, or because bad things happen. Depression is an illness caused by issues in the brain, not the mind (they aren't the same, believe it or not). It can't be cured by living what one would normally consider a happy life. It can't be cured by just willing oneself into happiness. It can only be dealt with moderately using certain coping mechanisms or drugs. If not caught early enough, and the illness is bad enough, then things like this will happen. Despite what anyone might say, it is not her fault.

Here in the US, opening another person's mail is a felony, and can get you several years in federal prison. And that's just for starters.
