1. I'm sorry to be so rude, but this has to be the most selfish thing I have ever read. Instead of being grateful that people are donating so that you can play for free, you don't want people to donate?

Last I checked, servers cost money to run. Who's paying for these servers if not the donators? I assure you, contrary to what you think, money does not grow on trees.

More donations = more funding = (possibly) more developers.

As such, you should be advocating people to donate, not crying about how there's some unfair advantage (which fyi, doesn't exist, all the gear donors can get is obtainable in game for free as well).

You never got to play on private servers of old, where donators got donator only items and could solo 10-20 players alone...
You will never win against the whiners and criers...Just nod at them with a sad smile on your face and repeat "I feel your pain." The only ones I have sympathy for are the broken keyboards, desks, walls, etc. that the staff of Warmane have left in their wake. #donateakeyboard

Read carefully.................................. I wrote "Personally i was unable to donate until last year. So it becomes unfair for the people who cannot donate for items."
There are many people who dont get pocket money/allowances, who are still studying............ I am not against donating

  3. Hello! As a new player, I'm curious as to what determines the activity rank! I spend much more time in game than on the forums! Will this give me a low activity rank? Thanks!

    Happy gaming!

  4. they must remove naxx and ulduar items from market place (wotlk servers)

  5. As such, you should be advocating people to donate, not crying about how there's some unfair advantage (which fyi, doesn't exist, all the gear donors can get is obtainable in game for free as well).
First off, I am a donor and I support more donating, but don't attack someone with a straight up lie. Shadowmourne is unobtainable "in game for free", as is Val'anyr, 2 of the most powerful weapons are donor-only. Just fyi.

Don't call someone a liar just because you're uninformed.

  7. shadowmourne drops from lk25hc/halion25hc and valan yr shards can be grinded and traded for valanyr through gm assistance or something.

  8. wrapup

mercy - ... we are not happy with the point shop in its current form ... You don't have to like it ... we have deemed it necessary to implement, so we are going to go forward with it ... I'm sure everyone will be pleased in the end ...
obnoxious - ... Are you disabled in some way that keeps you from getting items in game, be it by crafting/grinding yourself or buying from others? Or is simply laziness that makes you only see either click for pointless points or pay money as alternatives? Whatever the case, take your attitude elsewhere. If our tailoring of our servers to fit what we aim to provide - including removing "fun-server" aspects like this had become - gets that sort of reaction out of you, we might not be the place for you.
Molten was the best free, fun, custom WoW server I think I ever played. By definition, as soon as you tweak one thing different from Blizz 1x, you've created a custom server. Molten included xp acceleration plus voting points just to name a couple of ways they attracted me to come on in and play. They promised that for even a small donation they would make my game play more convenient, so I kicked in a few bucks and sure enough, they delivered. I no longer had to wait half an hour to log in. Money well spent IMHO.

Then came the war and the finger-pointing and the inability to login. What did Molten do by way of apology? They didn't just throw me a bone, they threw me a whole graveyard. I got a handful of instant 80s plus mega gear and promo packages to beef my guys. They might not have been able to recover my old characters, but man did they set up my new characters FTW! Unexpected, undemanded, and totally awesome!

Then came the switch to Warmane and I think the transition went pretty smoothly. They kept the servers up and, thanks to their generosity, I was able to go quest in areas that had truly been out of my reach before. New lands, new adventures - fwoosh! I'm a happy dude!

Then came the day I log in, create a new shammy (I suck at shammy, but wanting to improve), and discover no way to pay points for startup bags. I'm like WTF? So I start reading on the forum about the bags and it takes me here and soon I understand.

The Molten-cum-Warmane community is being told to spend all their vote points by 01 September. Staff isn't releasing any details about the new system beyond describing it as starting everyone even and making it easier and more rewarding. They've lit the fuse and told everyone to get to it before the thing blows. Which will get a player's attention. And make us hurry to spend those points.

Only then do we find the marketplace has been gutted.

Players ask about the new system and push back about the reduced selections and the response from staff is as quoted above.

    In conclusion:
To Obnoxious: No, I am neither disabled nor lazy and your hostility is not only unworthy of anyone providing a service to people, but your accusation is unwarranted and juvenile. Regardless of your emotional reaction to being challenged over a decision you make about what you choose to offer for public consumption, everyone deserves to be addressed with greater dignity than you exhibit.

To Mercy: Yes, I do have to like it, or I won't visit your site regardless of your vague reassurance that everyone will be pleased. If I'm not pleased - I'm gone.

My response to the recent game changes and the posts from Molten/Warmane staff: It was fun for months and months, but then you got weird. I'm outta here.

  9. i like the ider of making the 0 gone but plz dont make the items cheaper i thing its almost to cheap now
i think its ok it takes some time to get a full set gear for looks i gat a full set for my pala in 60 days or maby even less so plz keep it challenging
;D oder then that good work

Are you sure? It's quite convenient you address what I said, while ignoring in response to what I said that. Let's remind you, in case your memory is that short: "Bunch of money hungry hypocrits." You consider responding to that "unworthy", "unwarranted" and "juvenile"? I can only assume you're siding with that stance, and I'll tell you with my usual bluntness: it doesn't deserves to be addressed with any dignity. Enjoy it out there, we "money hungry hypocrites" will be fine.

  11. I am excited/nervous about the coming changes to the point system and ranking. I had lots of questions but I read the entire thread first and I see that many of them have been answered. Thank you for all that great info! The question that wasn't answered I'm sure WILL be when the time is right. As Maxambition said, when the database was wiped you guys did a LOT for your players. IMHO you went above and beyond all expectations!!! You could have just said sorry, start over, here are a few points, have fun. But you handed out level 80's and gear and coins and points! WOW! Thank you!! As I said I am both excited and nervous about the activity part of the changesl. I am hoping it is not based solely on online time per day as many (including our awesome staff) have families and jobs that keep us off the game for most of the day. But whatever you choose to do, however you change it I will still be here long after the picky ones are gone. Some of the readily available items in the point shop have caused the AH prices to drop. I am glad to see them gone. This is a game where you BUILD a character and a profession. You BUILD wealth. Not just buy things with vote points and sell them to get rich quick. Or outfit your character to the nines in a week. I don't mind working to get what I want. I know you don't need someone to tell you to stick to your guns but I am saying it anyway. Don't let the nay-sayers dictate how you run your server. I'm sure the changes are for the best for both players and staff. Thank you all for the best WOW experience out there!!!

  12. Add so we can send points to other characters and trade souldbound items.

  13. They must add Cataclysm and WotLK BoEs to Frostwolf marketplace. Some parts are essential for transmog.
