Well, unless you have a full, manly, healthy beard, it's better to be clean shaved. What type of beard did you have? Can you provide a pic?

I don't have a recent pic of it groomed, only unkempt as it was before I fully shaved it off, wouldn't do it justice. I can't find anything close to what I had on google, only ugly unkempt pubic hair on chins...

Ok I've found it, it's not called a neckbeard but a chin curtain with mustache. Google that to get an ideea. Second pic is closest, but soul patch not connected to chin beard.

Will let it grow into a uniform full beard now... Before cheeks were hard to grow hair on, now it grows like crazy. Should start taking shape in 3-4 weeks... I don't know how I'll suffer the shame till then..

If you try too hard, obviously it will be hard. You'll get tired quickly. Usually the best is to do a little bit once in awhile (which not even that I do because I'm lazy af).
