I couldn't agree more. I have to say I play Assa and absolutely love it especially in PvP. You have less of a chance to survive if you make a mistake unlike Sub so to me its just more challenging!

Assa is bugged, the mastery doesn't affects envenom or venomous wounds.
Play assa until you get decent gear, then switch to sub.

Alternatively, don't pay attention to what the goofballs say and play what you like. Which is what you should do.

Seriously. Play what you find the most fun.
