1. No Dungeon Finder is one of Lordaeron's primary features and we want to deliver a realm with a world complete enough to enjoy traveling to instances (and experience and adventures associated with it) without Dungeon Finder. Dungeon Finder made a significant impact on making the game less dependent on the community as well as less responsible and less immersive. AFKing in Dalaran and doing Dungeon Finder from 15-80 is one of the things we don't want to see in Lordaeron. After several months we may review the subject of disabled Dungeon Finder, but it will definitely not be the case at launch or shortly after launch.
I can understand this thought process to a point, and if this were brand new content i would agree completely but this isn't new content at all, its content we've all done several times over across 3 expansions over numerous years. I know exactly what to expect at any area in WoW because the content we're talking about has been out for a long time, there is no mystery or thrill to it. From a PVE perspective, we progress through the story line to obtain gear necessary to complete harder content and the RDF system helps to facilitate that goal.

RDF is more of a bone being thrown to people who dont like dealing with the aspects of a wold pvp style of server which is what all Warmane servers are, they can go about doing the questing grind while waiting for a dungeon queue, maybe having to deal with a gank now and again but still being able to accomplish what they want.

OT: Disabling RDF is the best choice so far they have made in my opinion since it killed the LFG chats (which killed the community) Hell it take 5-15 Minutes to fly/run to any dungeons. People just want their rewards and want to be able to AFK in Dalaran/Org/SW
To each his own on feeling sad about the death of LFG chat (our community has been through a lot worse things than the death of LFG but we're still strong), and i might be wrong on this but i dont think Warmanes population per server is the same as retail (more ppl per server equaling more chat spam making the need for different chat channels a necessity), but almost every rdf i've ever done people always spam LFG on global before queuing up, its a time saver and i dont like wasting my time whether its 5 mins or 15.

People from opposing factions with way too much time on their hands will begin camping summoning stones and dungeon entrances, and within a few weeks of opening you'll see thread after thread of angry people screaming for the return of the rdf, the time some people have to invest in a game you want to be successful is limited, and they wont want it wasted unnecessarily. Whether or not rdf stays or goes ill still check out Lordaeron, but be prepared for the inexorable **** storm that's going to follow having a nonexistent rdf.

I get what you mean But when RDF was released a big part of World pvp died. Ive been playing since 2004 and world pvp was active all the way until 3.3 when RDF was introduced to the game. The most wonderful thing of the game is to walk to the dunegon clear it and earn your gear/XP/EMblems W/E. RDF was one of the first mistakes blizzard made in my and many others opinions. There is no reason to discuss this tbh because everyone got different opinions and the Decision is already made and they will not change their mind about this.

  3. There is a point about this discussion and it might even continue if RDF was enabled. I mean, this isn't about just pressing a button and letting everyone use it as it is. At least at the start we had few suggestions pop up on how RDF could be modified to fit in into standards of people that I like to call "Grinders". Those that enjoy doing things hard way. I myself am "Lore-ish" person, I love story, I love digging into it, exploring what universe I have found myself inside.

But there is also a thing of how some do not enjoy PVP, so what alternative can PVE people get that they could access from anywhere, without need to have a risk of running into other party or some level 60 bloke in a level 25 zone, denying access to a dungeon for Horde/Alliance. Lets be honest, people that are ***holes(forum does not censor hole word.) are in both factions.(This is assuming that PVP people will have their instant battleground feature and that they are fine with trying to fight their way to battleground entrances.)

(No offence meant by calling people Grinders. I understand that some like to work hard for their rewards, since at the start of playing wow I felt same enjoyment. Until I had to do same quests/dungeons for 5th/8th time alone.)

This is pretty much a personification of whats been on my mind. Enjoyment from one person to another is subjective, what one person finds fun another might not. Not everyone likes world pvp. On retail you had 4 styles of server game play to choose from (i think, might be wrong), pvp, normal (pve), rp, rp-pvp. Warmane with a finite amount of resources to invest cant afford to have that many servers with those kind of options, which is why all their servers are world pvp based. It just seems like Warmane is embracing one style of game play over another when embracing all game play aspects, though a delicate balancing act, would be more beneficial for its longevity.

You have an rbg queue, an arena queue, even a queue to get into a server at max capacity, but none of these are considered to be detrimental to the community, but the rdf queue is immediately singled out as the sole cause to community degradation.

There is no reason to discuss this tbh because everyone got different opinions and the Decision is already made and they will not change their mind about this.
You're right, hearts and minds won't be changed in this thread, but its nice to see alternative opinions. I'm just trying to understand the logic behind the decision, on some levels i understand, on others i don't.

  5. you just said exacly what i wanted to say,RDF is the only thing most of us really need to actually enjoy WoW disabling the RDF is just a tons of wasted time, that time we dont have when we have also a real social life.
one thing that i just cant understand, if the RDF enabled, everyone is satisfied, players who wants to look for ppl and wolk to the dungeon stil can do it, those who want to do dj using the RDF can do it, so why should we be forced to choose for the minoriti part that wants to disable the RDF?

  6. Minority vote or not, it's the staff's call. Kaer's call. And it was made long before the realm was launched, and that is how it will stay for the foreseeable future.
    Also, please don't necro-post threads.
