1. Sorry for not seeing this sooner. If you still haven't made the decision, I would tell you to go for other, more based manufacturer, but if you made the decision on buying this one you did not fail, since this PSU is Seasonic based and is gold certified. Congratz on your new build.

I haven't bought the pc yet. I took the specs and I sent it to several local companies to see what they would charge me for it. I also asked one of my mates if he could build it for cheaper or even better at the same price. Most of the local companies quoted me between 1000 - 3000 more and some even put worse parts in :/ I'm still waiting for a reply from my mate but if he can't get a better price, I probably will be going for that with a bigger power supply on side just to be on the safe side.

Recreated your build in pcpartpicker with some things slightly improved, take a look

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7nT6wP

    Notes:
The 4690k is way better than the 4590 for only 20 dollars more. It's also overclockable, so you can get extra juice out of it. This is where the 212 Evo comes in, great fan. If you don't plan to overclock you can remove it tho.

The 380 (or the 280) is waaaaay better than any 960 out there. An obvious pick. 2 GB is just not enough for gaming anymore (except for lower resolutions)

2x4GB memory so you can get dual-channel

Tried to get a better SSD, you can probably pick a lower-tier one if you'd like but i've only heard good things about the 850 series. Standart 1 TB HDD

I think the case is expensive as hell but hey, if you've got the money, why not. Altho i really recommend you getting a cheaper case and a r9 390 or 390x for example.

Seasonic S12II 620W - Using this in my PC. It's running extremely quiet and really well, no problems so far. It's been about a year. Gives you room for overclocking on both the CPU and GPU, you won't need more than 500w to run your system( http://i.imgur.com/Kjwiyq2.png )

Standart Optical drive, you can probably get a cheaper one if you'd like.

Sound Card/Network Adapters, i didn't get any as you said those are integrated

Comes out at almost 900 dollars. You can order the parts online or something and either build the rig yourself or ask for a friend. Companies generally try to milk money out of you.

    Cheers

PS:Improvements CAN be made but nothing major. It depends on your budget and on the fact whether or not your really want that case. You can get a 390 in there for $961 right now

I heard that a lot of people had problems with Radeon Cards though? Especially with drivers and stuff?
One of my mates was running R9 Fury X and he ended up selling it due to lots of problems that he had.
Most of my friends stick with Nvidia products.

Even if it does give better performance ~ I don't really want to buy it and then have a whole lot of problems with it in the end :/

Only reason I went with that case is because it was included in the build I selected.

  5. Wellp i've had an AMD card since forever. Never had problems with my old one, haven't had a problem with my r9 280 so far. About the drivers, some people are having crashes on Windows 10 on certain cards, don't know why, but i think it's fixed now (can't confirm). But it's not even close to the nVidia launching drivers - those were causing crashes on every card and their reddit was filled with complains

AMD releases great drivers, rarely. nVidia releases them more often but with less impact on actual performance
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...oost_with_the/
Their cards also tend to age really well, with the 280x running as well as a 780 (the 780 is literally like $250 more expensive)

PS: In the DX12 tests (which is about to be in most of the AAA games soon) AMD was coming ahead, while nVidia was actually dropping FPS compared to DX12 http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/0...nt-for-nvidia/

As for your friend, was it coil whine or something? The first few shipments of the Fury X were faulty and really loud, so it's possible. The card was brand new at the time, it's usually normal to have issues. Your friend should've probably tried to RMA it, the fury X is beating the 980ti with the latest drivers

PS2: nVidia is a great company, don't have much against them. They make great high-end GPU's but in the price range you're looking into, AMD beats them every time

not sure what currency you are talking about 0.o but that is alot of money.
    PC1:
    amd fx4300 cpu
    256gb ssd
    r9 270x gpu
    8GB dual ch. ddr3 ram
    600 psu silver rated
some msi motherboard that supported all my stuff
    standard disk reader
standard rest of the pc parta you can imagine
costs: about €700 a year ago.

    PC2:
    i5-2400 cpu
    2x 500gb HDD's
    HD 7770 gpu
    4GB dual ch. ram
320 PSU (haha it actually even works with this pc, no errors, no noise, nothing when gaming)
    some standard motherboard
    standard dvd player burner
standard rest of pc parts you can imagine
costs: €220 (even got windows and HD 6450 gpu with it)

I always forget to add the currency xD... It's ZAR so divide it by 14.22 I think that's the current exchange rate and you'll get US Dollars.

    Thanks for your input...

I was looking at the "MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card" and compared it to the "Gigabyte 4G OC 960 GTX" The price difference between those 2 is around 400 ZAR ($28 USD) and I'm not entirely sure what to look at when buying graphics cards ^.^ but both the memory clock and core clock on the 960 gtx is much higher.

EDIT: The 960 GTX seems to be on special currently so the price difference is around 1000 ZAR ($70 USD)

    MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card
    GPU:970MHz/ 980MHz/ 1000MHz (Silent/ Gaming/ OC)
    Mem:5700MHz/ 5700MHz/ 5800MHz (Silent/ Gaming/ OC)

    Gigabyte 4G OC 960 GTX
Core Clock Boost:1279 / Base: 1216 MHz in OC Mode
    Memory Clock 7010 MHz
And with me living in South Africa, the prices on the sites you give me may seem a lot cheaper, but I'll be taxed heavily on them in most cases as well as a shipping fee most likely ~ making it much more expensive.

The cheapest prices I have found thus far when buying online is from www.takealot.com
    Edited: November 11, 2015

  8. What, the 960 is $70 cheaper than the 380? If that's the case and the 960 is the 4 GB version i would probably buy it.
As for the core clocks, while they do matter to an extend, they don't tell the whole story^ Look up some benchmarks, the 380 beats the 960 by a fairly large margin.

Whatever you decide to go for, they are both great GPUs and will serve you well. I do advice you to pick a cheaper case, tho :D

PS: What games are you going to play with it? WoW, for example, uses almost no gpu power and can basically run a potato if you manage to put in the PCI-E Slot :D

by the way i usually check the prices from amazon, so yeah, if you're not an American or smth the tax is going to suck. Isn't there a South African site that sells these parts?

www.Takealot.com is a south African site that sell the parts mentioned.

As for games, I have quite a few actually. Some I've bought but due to my potato pc haven't yet played them or they just run really badly.

    http://steamcommunity.com/id/xFrenzy47x/games/?tab=all
And then Battlefield 4 which isn't on that list.

I don't play WoW that much anymore ~ I just find that the community is rather helpful in most cases :)

  10. That's an interesting site you've got there..4460+H81 motherboard for 4,499 while you can get 4690k+H81 mobo for 4,458, damn xD
Either way, i'm gonna try to make a list with parts from that site :D Got nothing better to do right now anyway
PS: I assume R stands for Rand, using a value converter, hope i'm not wrong

Are you using a WiFi adapter or do you just plug the ethernet cable into your PC?

This is what i came up with. It's a bit less than a hundred dollars, about 200 more expensive than the parts from amazon but i guess if you count in the taxes it'll actually come out cheaper.
    imgur of the build: http://i.imgur.com/WEmjXPz.png
PasteBin, has all links to the items and prices included: http://pastebin.com/0VdsBtxd

By the way the 960 is indeed on a sale right now but so is the r9 380 Gaming edition, making the 380 only 20 dollars more expensive (worth it every time)

PS2: The RAM is 4GB x 2, didn't make it clear in that pastebin but you can see it on the picture

    Yes R stands for Rand

  12. If you guys don't know AMD is planning on releasing omega drivers 2.0 and also the catalyst control center will be replaced with Radeon Software.
