It isn't really a issue since only a tiny percentage of the players is doing it.
Tiny percentage means not alot to gain there. Not worth spending any resources on(like writing, testing and compiling scripts/programs for it).

Did you read the topic at all? There's nothing to write / test / compile (lol), it was already here, it's working.
I agree with yairomii 100%...
The problem is the time that people tend to afk in character selection screen... because after a Crash there's huge difference on the queue...
Another subject is : Multiboxers take up too much slots BUT, people that use bot PROGRAMS should be punish harder 3,4 days ban is nothing ...
Imagine 1500 people waiting to get into the server and some guy is out having dinner with his friends and using a bot program ? Taking up slots in the server...
The time on the AFK is way too much... 5 mins you get afk 20,30 minutes you get kicked into the character selection screen and then after like what another 30 mns you get kicked of the server ? That's way too much time for a slot to open.
Queue sure is an issue, but u guys are making it too big of an issue.Currently queues are for few hours during the evening, the wait time is aprox 1 hour, and for those that say they are on queue for more than 2h thats simply a lie, last night on 1.2k queue i just went to watch 1 episode of 45 mins and like 2 mins after the ep i was in, and for those that say they cannot raid or are back in queue after crash, thats also not true, you are able to login few mins after crash / dc, server keeps your spot.
It takes like 2hours+ for someone to get booted from character screen thats the main problem, and even with this long time to get booted ppl still toggle walk into walls so they dont get booted and stay on like that for hours.
plz warmane apply your changes again for those people who like to siting in character screen, which u had on last Tuesday, if someone stay more then 2 minutes on character screen, just auto kick them, problem with que will be solved for sure!
From the restarts yesterday around 14:33 (2 back to back) to queues (around 300 at 16:01) about an hour and a half passed.
After the restarts yesterday around 2.7k seemingly "attentive players" immediately logged back in, about 20 minutes later population was up to about 7.1k, shortly after about 8.6k. From the looks of things it took about an hour for the population to get back up to around where it was before the restart and pretty much the same amount of time to reach queues so it's safe to assume that a "large" portion of players are AFK at one time or another.

"Evening" is a VERY vague description and even less of an asset being so in an argument. I would ask what part of the evening you were referring to...
For the past 4 days I have noted population and queues. Queues tend to begin between 2pm and 3pm (realm time), peak between 6pm and 7pm (RT)(1.5k+) and dip below 1k queue around 10pm (RT).
A queue of about 800 around 4pm (RT) took 2 hours and 48 minutes for the character selection screen to appear, it's likely similar later in the day (possibly a "bit" faster later in the evening when players are more likely to be logging off for the night but going below 2 hours before then I'm not inclined to believe).
How many spots at most/at any given time are being used by Multi-Boxers? I doubt that you have an idea, if you did, you probably wouldn't have made that statement. BTW I like how you
At most for either faction I have seen no more than about 30 characters, the highest numbers being later in the evening when there is NO queue. But lets say it is 50 at most on either side, double it that's 100 (for Horde and Alliance combined), but let's double it just to grossly inflate the number, that's 200 (about 50 more than I previously mentioned). 200 spots isn't even a drop in the bucket when the queue is over 1.5k, sure it may stymie queues for about 30 minutes but that's about it.
@TriNitY706
I'm happy other people noticed the pattern of people disappearing after RR. This is clearly visible, and for me is a sign of AFKers. I still have hope that idea of kicking those sitting AFK in char selection screen will come to life, and no one will have to sit in queue for more than a hour anymore, even at peak times.
So you what, sit there and watch the 2 hour queue the entire time? You can't take the trash, or walk the dog during that time? I come in, log in, cook lunch or dinner and then sit down and youtube it until the queue comes up. Right now I have been waiting 2 hours and still have over 1k players in queue. Looking at not even being able to play today because people sitting AFK in game or in character select. How does that sound fair?
And I thought the 80% of the server were in the selection server screen trying to relog when server crashed. So no, we are very few who do that.
I got disconected after I waited 2 hours in queue from 1700 to 800... when i login back.. i am 2100.... 1,5 hours back in queue and i am 1200...
Simple math .... almost 4 hours waiting in queue... this awesome
I sometimes can't login immediately after a restart. It just wont work, even if the server is back online and i see population growing on the website. I then do something else a few minutes and try to relog 10-20 minutes later.
I guess it's the same for many players and it explains the time population needs to grow back to ~8k. Some ppl are interrupted when doing something and just dont have any intention to log in again because they are upset (nothing against staff but if youre working hard to achieve smth and the server crashes shortly before you finally succeed you might want to take a brake).
But i agree: About 1-2k players will be long-time-afk.
After 6 hours, 22 minutes (Not joking), I am finally in. Reducing AFK time or extending the server capacity is paramount order right now!
Kicking people if they are afk for a while will be a good idea - just do not make the time to short.
30 min is two short time in my opinion - just think about it... some people got stuff to do that can take a little bit longer time than that. Make food, buy stuff, walk the dog, etc...
30 min afk ingame then 30 min afk at char. screen maybe?
When people disconnect, there will always be new people that goes afk, and there will be a rotation/rollover for whos logging in and getting kicked very often - that means a very short queue - even for the one who got kicked.
(Sry bad english and bad to explain.. hope people understood=)
