1. imo, as a person who played a ton of retail, it is nice to have that 7X exp boost, otherwise it is way to slow. I tried going to Lord, and holy crap the queue times and leveling time was redic. I have a toon on there that I'm playing with my brother, but if he isn't on I don't go to Lord. I think DW is the best, as it allows me to enjoy the leveling process without having to dedicate my life to the game to reach maximum. The only downside that you won't hear about in 7X exp servers with no one queueing for rdf until max level- is that your gear will often be way outdated for the level you are. (I had some level 20s gear that I didn't replace until I was in the 70s, gray gear can last up to your 50s). If you make an active attempt to buy some greens for your level off the AH you can minimize some of the gear deficiency, but it is a problem- especially once you reach max level, and find yourself too undergeared to even think about heroics, let alone regular level 80 dungeons, without people screaming at you about your poor ilevel.

The first thing I do when I hit 80 is I begin to farm up mats to make my leg and foot 264 ilevel armor, and my 245 ilevel bracers. Honestly having that gear crafted before jumping into dungeons goes a long way. Once you have those, spamming dungeons to build up EOT to buy 245 gear for other item slots is a great way to get up to where you need to be for heroics. Anyhow, just thought I'd point out that gearing is a bear because of the 7X exp rate. (I tried on my pally to stay in some zones in the 70s a bit longer than needed to try and replace as much gear as possible from quest rewards, and she turned out better geared than my druid was when she hit 80, so that will help too).

  2. Better pick Deathwing over Lord. It is a joke what is currently happening on Lord, seems like all what they said before launching it ,is gone, and probably it will end up like Deathwing/Ragna, but with x1,no RDF and no heirlooms. They are adding more and more coin services, most likely they will also put Lolmourne to the coin shop, see. Time, when they xfer Lordcore to Death/Ragna and merge them, that server will be better imo to play. Less queue if any, rdf, looms, alt friendly and things.

  3. Me and friends started on Loraderon, but we switched to Deathwing for the following reasons:

    1. No queue
Waiting 1-2 hours in queue every day is a joke, getting disconnected and end up in queue is a joke. This basically means you can't play when you want and if you (or maybe the main tank) get disconnected during a dungeon or raid, oh well, tough luck.

    2. Rates
For people like me who have played retail for years (read leveled tons of chars) and like to have more than 1 char, leveling at 1x is torture, especially on a private server, especially on a private server I can't log in to. At first I was critical to the 7x rates on Deathwing but now I love it, leveling still takes time and effort, but a lot less. For example, each level 71-80 takes 30-60 minutes of focused questing.

    3. Random Dungeon Finder (RDF)
With no RDF and 10,000 people online, spamming the global chat, each player trying to be LOUDER than the previous players, it's not easy reading a flashing wall of text and finding whatever it is you're looking for, or offering. Also, once you find a party, you have to fight who goes there to summon, it's a waste of time and removes an important part of the WotLK experience. This is a major fail in my book.

    4. Marketplace
Loraderon doesn't offer heirlooms, it doesn't offer name change, faction change, and so on.... and for the stuff it does offer, prices are much higher compared to other realms.

    5. Lag
Loraderon with 10,000 players online lags, feel free to browse the forums for tons of lag related topics. I believe this mainly affects PvP players who tend to be more sensitive to delays.

    6. Random disconnects
There are at least a few random disconnects most days, if not every day.

    7. Quest objectives
Since the server xp rate is 1x, you don't have the luxury to skip many quests. At times you will find yourself waiting and fighting other players for quest objectives on 5-10 min respawn time.

BUT, Loraderon is not all bad even though it could have been a lot better.

One of the good things about Loraderon is the core - I'm gonna be honest, Deathwing is bugged as hell - but they have plans to patch Deathwing with the new core. Another good thing Loraderon has is that it's pretty new and people don't expect you to have 99999 GS.

For me, the perfect private server would be a new progressive realm with the latest core, RDF, heirlooms, 3x rates and ofc no queue. I would even pay monthly fee to play on such server.

A lot of this can simply be summarised as you don't like leveling when it's not handed to you, tbh 71-80 in 30 minutes is an utter joke. It's this exact attitude of 'wah this is somewhat difficult/time consuming' which has corrupted retail so much that it's now a struggle to actually kill yourself or fail to max a profession.

Let alone if you're willing to donate you can queue skip now, So effectively

    1) Queue jump available to donaters.

    2) You don't enjoy the slow leveling.

    3) No RDF, which I prefer, as you are forced to pick your team instead of being lumped with one and/or commit to doing a dungeon instead of leaving and re-queueing.

    4) Now offers all but Heirlooms,

    5) I've not had a stitch of lag....

    6) I've always experienced this everywhere on private servers...

    7) See 2.

    This assumption, hahaha.

They've gave a solid point as of why things were added to the store (none of which are detrimental to playstyle). They've implemented the best ways of generating money with the least impact to the server's original goals.

And yet next step is obviously 'lolmourne' for sale right?

Also If your cool merged server is so going to be the best, don't you think it will start getting a queue?

If you don't like the rates that's fine, go play somewhere easier. Don't slate the server based on bull**** assumptions.
