If you had any technological background, you would clearly understand the situation. I applaud Warmane for their hard work and effort to update us and continue to fight against the ****ers who decide to get a kick out of DDOS'ing. Never once have I ever sat down and said to myself "Oh SOB, I hate warmane, all they do is sit around and get DDOSed with such little effort to inform us the situation." There isn't much you can do when it comes to DDOSing other than use what paid hardware/software you have to alleviate the effects.
If you really want to know what a good analogy for DDOS (Denial of Service) is, look no further:
"Pretend riot is a post office that needs to receive mail, process it, then distribute it. Imagine someone wants to sabotage them, for whatever reason, and does the following. Gathers a bunch of people to work for him or her (the equivalent of virus infected computers), and then mass sends mail to the post office. On the mail, they write someone else's address, so that the real perpetrator is untraceable. Now, if there is enough, this overflows Riot's capacity to receive mail and process it quickly enough, creating a huge backlog of mail, therefore slowing down the rate that Riot can get mail from the sender to the receiver. While Riot can spend money and get more workers to process mail, this is not a good solution, as the perpetrators can get more people (computers) as well. So, Riot is trying to work with others in order to improve the system so that this can't happen as easily in the future."
