1. Doesn't warlock curse of elements have an effect on that?
Not level-based resistances, no. Some Vanilla (and TBC?) boss creatures had high amounts of resistances towards a certain spell school that could be reduced by Curse of Elements. In WotLK, the resistance reduction component of Curse of Elements is no longer useful on bosses because the only resistance they have towards you is the immutable level-based resistance that's inherent to all higher level creatures.

  2. How does that work then, i was talking with my ele shamy friend and he doesnt get resists in naxx according to dmg meters, do undeads just have higher shadow resists over other spell schools?

  3. So why only priest Mind fly and/or devouring plague get sometimes resisted, and no other spell..never heard any shamy/mage/lock have this problem...only this 2 spells..oh and lets not forget that 2 moths ago in TBC like 70% of the bosses were imune to this 2 spells.

  4. Alright, so I googled the matter and found an extremely similiarly described issue to what you guys are saying existing on other private servers (to which I won't link for obvious reasons).

What the people on their forums found was this: that weird full resist that happens to Mind Flay is caused by Mind Flay weirdly checking against YOUR own shadow resistance, instead of the boss'. Test this on a dummy with and without the Prayer of Shadow Protection buff. I'm testing this on the PTR right now and it appears like the full resists happen rather frequently with the shadow resistance buff on you, and not at all when you don't have the buff.

  5. That only increases spell damage. The old version of it reduced resistances.
It DOES reduce resistances in WotLK, by 160-something.
The only difference with the past is that one cannot have negative resistances

  6. I just tested it on the dummy.
I'm slightly over hitcap so i can't be a hit related problem.
I tested it with shadow protection active and got resists on mindflay, but i also got resists while i was at 0 shadow resistance.
So i gues it really is a problem with the bosses own shadow resistance in any form.

Or the partial resists that occure(or should occur) that should randomise between 0% 10% or 20% of the full dmg value of a spell isn't working right and there is the chance that it can randomise up to 100% of the full dmg value.

these are the two things that I can imagine
