1. #Neverlucky always AV. xD Well I'm not currently pvping that much, but yeah, the sheer amount of AVs is too damn high. It might be exactly like on retail, but lets face it, this is not retail, so if you're nice, they might think about tweaking it a bit for us one day. Until then, it is what it is. There are more important issues in Pvp than AV at the moment.

    1. Don't understand that part.
    2. Is this LoL?
    3. Looting players? No.
Never played on Retail, so never seen 100% working AV, but I don't think those things work here as well.

SotA and IoC are currently closed, if I remember correctly someone from the staff mentioned they won't be released until Ulduar, once they fix all vehicles in there, then they'll fix the ones in those 2 BGs and open them. Something along those lines..

  2. I don't know if our Battleground system puts together people from picked and random queues, but that's not relevant to the prevalence of one specific Battleground happening here.
It doesn't. I spend few hours in call to arms queue for WSG, while people in queue for RBG played WSG few times.
And isn't relevant indeed, but it would be, if system worked like on retail - people queued using each method (going for specific BG or RBG) in 1 queue. On Call to Arms @WSG day you should see tons of WSG, instead we played few, then horde stopped coming cause they were losing too many and we stood in that queue (queued for WSG, not RBG) for few hours before giving up and joining Random Valleground.

I believe the system worked in an "Battleground is randomly chosen -> players are assigned to it" order, not a "there's this picked Battleground lacking players, let's dump randoms there to fill it up, then we get a random one for the leftovers" one.
Wrong, it was designed in a way to make waiting as short as possible. If you had 6 alliance and 8 horde waiting for WSG and 7 ppl in RBG queue, system started WSG inviting everyone from WSG queue and missing people from RBG. It would never wait X seconds for more people to join cause it decided to roll EOTS next, so that people queued for WSG and people queued for RBG wouldn't have to wait.
I can't find any blues to prove my posts, nor I can join wotlk live server and prove that queues are all connected. You can tho join current live servers, queue for specific BG and ask people if anyone playing with you in BG queued for a random. You'd find some confirmation there.

And once again, AV problem on retail was in a big part caused by alliance players who ququed specifically for this BG. Reason for that was simply - there was always highest winrate on this BG for alliance. Take a look at winratio...

The thing that I am wondering is -
    Is AV scripted properly?
    1. Saving Wing Commanders?
    2. Spawning Super Minions?
    3. Collecting supplies?
    1. nope 2. nope 3. probably nope too, didn't check

You can also rush boss room, take 4 druids to root 4 adds and kite boss around a room with 50% slow or just stun him. You can end AV in like 2 minutes, if you have enough people listening to you, cause boss and adds are a joke.

Yes, this is LoL, because LoL invented super minions.

Three expansions later. What happens nowadays wouldn't necessarily prove anything about how it was years ago. Systems and mechanics have been tweaked and changed over the years.

This is why I said I can't prove it, but you can always ask people who played back then, I'm sure there are plenty of those around, and some should be knowledgeable in the matter.

I said it's a part of a reason why, one of the many reasons, not the only one.

Like the Staff responsible for scripting, checking, verifying and approving this kind of thing.

I said it's a part of a reason why, one of the many reasons, not the only one.
No, you said "in a big part." But even if you had said "part," "one of the many," or even "a minor part," my link would remain valid.

  7. Like the Staff responsible for scripting, checking, verifying and approving this kind of thing.
They are just people, they can make mistakes, and even if they didn't in case of separate queues, they could script it that way for a reason we wouldn't know.

On Deathwing those who queue for specific battlegrounds get put together with those who queue for random battlegrounds. It was implemented with some updates about 1 year ago. I believe that's how it's supposed to work but WoW server emulators don't have such functionality by default so it has to be implemented separately.

  9. Is AV scripted properly?

You can kite every Galv / Balinda , Drek/Vanndar with just one hunter trap.
Balinda doesnt spawn her Elementar and her Meele hits(3k~) does more dmg then her Frostbolt (500~). She's kiteable (not worth it even since 500 Frostbolts)
Galv doesnt use Fear. He's kiteable
Drek doesnt use knockdown/Doesnt even have Wolfs. He's kiteable
Vanndar doesnt use Thunderclap. He's kiteable

And this is exactly how it's supposed to be. Now we just need to find that staff member who scripted it for deathwing and ask him to convince lord staff that this is blizzlike. Assuming he's not the same person lol.

  11. It's not really working well on DW either, or people don't do it much. But last time I tried to queue for WSG I sat in queue for a loong time.

Sometimes it takes longer time for some reason. But that might be because there are no groups for that battleground.

And this is exactly how it's supposed to be. Now we just need to find that staff member who scripted it for deathwing and ask him to convince lord staff that this is blizzlike. Assuming he's not the same person lol.
They probably just haven't scripted it yet.

Exactly. Then, why do you post 4 links that refer to 2014, 2014, 2013 and 2011 retail threads ?

  14. Exactly. Then, why do you post 4 links that refer to 2014, 2014, 2013 and 2011 retail threads ?
Because I expect people to read what I have already explained before in previous posts.

  15. Because I expect people to read what I have already explained before in previous posts.
So if there's a MoP thread saying AV is popping too much, it shows that its how it is supposed to work on retail. Because "Actually the only difference would be that in those expansions people have a way to sort of avoid the higher chance by blacklisting Alterac Valley, which apparently many people don't, yet complain."

BUT, if we can prove that AV is not popping more than others bgs on WoD, it shows nothing. Because "Three expansions later. What happens nowadays wouldn't necessarily prove anything about how it was years ago. Systems and mechanics have been tweaked and changed over the years."

    Nice logic.
