If its ignoring 10% armor, how is it a nerf?
ayy lmao. its a "nerw" since armor ignore doesnt stack with arp in the way it should be obv
On the example of the Bdk: If you are running 1260/90% ArP you will never get your target down to 0 Armor. While this is possible with 100% ArP, the current state makes it impossible to reach that 0 Armor goal with the talent. The value of ArP increases the more you stack it. Basically the bug reduces your effectiveness by 140 Str considering high gear levels. On lower levels of gear it might be impossible to reach the ArP cap.
I would like to see how you came to that conclusion.
my 1400 arp stacked dk deals more dmg per swing than 1260 one, which is terrebly wrong
The thing is that it's supposed to be added to the amount of arp you have. so if you have 90% arp you get a 100%. the way it works now is, lets just make it easy and say that a boss in ICC has 10000 armor. Now it first takes away 1000 armor and then after you reduce the remaining 9000 by 90%. Which lands you with a remaining 900 armor. Which might not sound that much when you first think about it, but because of the way armor scales gives the boss about 5% more physical damage reduction.
which is a ton..
this is also how it's supposed to work for mace spec, battle stance etc. But they are also apparently bugged.
if you want to read more on the subject here is the wowwiki link, pretty good reading although its a lot of stuff on that page. http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_penetration
If you want to go right to the action in that article go to "Percentage-based ArP ". where you will see how it worked before wotlk and during.
"Now everything operates in percentages and stacks additively in two categories: Debuffs and personal Armor Penetration. The two categories stack multiplicatively with each other."
hope this clears up some questions :)
according to my testings Battle stance is 40% less effective (?sic), so it ignores 6% of armor, instead of 10%. its not even a joke
It's a nerf because of how arp works. The 10% arp that the talent should give equal to 140 arp rating. When armor reduction is given isntead we dks lose ~166 str (kings and talents taken into account) because we have to gem in order to reach the 1400 hard carp. It's a very significant nerf, I've no idea how you see it as something normal.
He is totally right. And it's super annoying.
For you guys just reading this page please vote up the bug report: https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/25162
Basically, if you have 90% arp you'll get +/- 100% with this +10% from the talent.
Right now you'll get 91%...
Don't waste any hopes on this issue. Warmane does not take kindly to blood dk's.
