WotLK Rogues and PvE

At low gear it would be better to go assassination because combat is too gear and cap dependant. Later on, combat outperforms assassination in fights that are not tank'n'spank, which is like 90% of the content. Additionally, raid leaders tend to favor combat rogues more as they buff the raid with 4% damage increase.

Ah damn kinda sucks because Assassination looks much more fun to me. I saw on armory few Assa Rogues with BiS ICC gear but mostly only Combat Rogues.

Btw after I hit 80, which items should I buy for vote points as first? (For Combat)

Weapons/trinkets as for (almost) anything.

I would recommend getting StS first as its bis for both combat and assa (which is better to start with, unless you can get a lot of items as already mentioned). If you have enough vp for more items you can get havoc > sts > offhand (don't remember the name) > dbw....

Alright thanks. So as fresh 80lvl I will be able to buy few BoEs for gold and in few weeks that trinket but thats all. At which point should I start speccing Combat?

When you are able to reach soft-arp cap. There was freshly added (and good) combat guide on forum - read it for more info.
