I'm just reading the posts in this thread and remembering why I quit PvP so many years ago :) In PvE if someone sucks, you just kick him. In PvP you have no other choice but to deal with such morons in your team and eventually lose because of them.
It's not just on Warmane. It's the general attitude of PvPers. I played PvP exclusively for the most of TBC on retail and also a big part of WotLK. The vast majority of them either don't care about objectives or don't know how to secure them. And so one day I just asked myself "okay, why am I actually doing this? why am I forcing myself to play with *****s who are absolutely ignorant and there's nothing I can do to change them?". I couldn't find an answer, so I just stopped PvPing.
To me, anyone who says that PvP is the essence of MMOs and that you're bad if you can't PvP is a fool and not someone I'd like in my groups. If you think so, then you obviously haven't played PvP for as long as I have. If you think so, then you're just a fool. PvP is nothing but e-peen waving, competing in an online game on a private server, where nobody ever did, does and will care about how much your silly arena rating is. I regularly reach 2k rating just by doing my weekly arenas and I'm above-average at best, so this says enough about how "good" PvPers are. Those same people are usually the first ones to stand and die in the fire and the last ones on the recount. No, thanks. /kick

Well, there's a lot of people that have never played wow before. On retail for example, there's a lot more players that have played the previous expansions etc. But here you might have people that have never played anything like BGs before.
Also, after people get geared, they don't need honor and they do what they feel like is fun for them. Some people enjoy not caring about objectives and zerging and herpderping around.
Here's why I don't pvp anymore. Used to heal in them as a Holy Paladin in Wotlk, (This is based off icecrown here) Cata, (Can't list other server names as they aren't Warmane) and MoP. I LOVED healing but after trying it out on Icecrown I just stopped now. I have never met a group of such hateful people in BGs before. I've had ragers sure but not in every single BG, including the ones we win. It just makes me want to lose rather than let some of the guys in the group win because of how much of a dick they are.
-Unless I'm in a premade my group has people who can't survive a single hit. This is VERY frustrating for a healer. Imagine going to LM on AB and then realizing you're surrounded by a 14k hp priest, a Shaman who has it's starter gear on.. Can't even remember the hp on that one, and a 12k hp rogue. What am I supposed to do in that situation besides just run and give up the objective.
-That one jackass who joins BGs 100% naked trolling but has over 25k HK when you inspect him and crap like that.
-The naked shaman who uses Hero/bloodlust at the start of the BG.
-People who rage at me and say they hope I die from AIDs. Pleasant. Had two people whisper this to me.. Anyone else have this happen?
-Afk bots... Way too many at least on the alliance side. No clue if hordes have them but in many BGs we'll have anywhere from 1-3 of them. And it seems impossible to kick them because they keep doing stuff like casting water shield, walking foward 2 steps, and repeat. Really wish these bums would get banned.
-People who rage and afk and spam blaming low GS people from our loss... Mhm. You afking is totally not one of the reasons we're losing.
-The guy who decides he can belittle the whole team for not going after the objective when we are currently being camped... Really bud? Like look at how many people are alive and how fast they die. We're not fighting at mid, we're trying to leave our GD graveyard.
-Healer noob wtf where are my heals? Really... I've had people who have charged into 3-4 hordes and died because 1, they ran out of LoS and 2, the hordes CC chained me. Then I get blamed for their death. (I'm talking I got Psy screamed, MCed, HoJ, Feared, etc... Try to get out of that with bubble on CD)
I know a lot of this is complaining about people raging but the difference between me and those people is that I don't put it into BG chat. I don't know if it's the time of year, maybe we have younger players.. Or maybe it's just that times have changed but pvp is not fun when your goal is to keep the people who act like THAT alive.
The only way I pvp now is on my low GS rogue in which I cap bases in AV all the way at the horde base, turn off BG chat and watch Netflix on my other screen and attacking after hordes leave. (1 player distracting 1-5 people is value if you ask me)
^this is exactly why I don't play healers on BGs. But then we end up without healers and we lose, so I just don't join BGs now, lol
You better run premades as healer,or with friends, healing randoms in bgs wont get you anywhere. Just saying
Dont roll a healer if you play2win here, its f*cking frustrating to make pointless circles around the map with your ******ed group.
That's not really the case for me, I usually solo queue and win most battlegrounds since you end up being the only healer or maybe 2-3 max if bigger battleground. If you heal well, those people that are dps and make 95% of your team will surely kill off the opposite team.
Yeah i agree, but sometimes the dps or tanks you heal just go for kills, and ignoring objectives, there are also the players that never deff you(since) you are their healer, they should do protect you. But nah.
Btw ohdo best.
Dunno why you reply here since <Ohdo> beats all,
Wish we had similar ppl on ally :/
On my horde healer I have around 300 bgs, the only thing that protects me is my 1400 resilience. For the sh*tty healer life I will give you few common situations.
You are the only healer in WSG, you heal your teammates and you wipe the enemies.Again and again, and again. But who the f*ck will go for the flag? All are waiting under the hill for kills. You realise that noone will ever go for the flag so you decide to go. Enemies kill your teammates without your heal and kill you after that. Gratz, 0:0, you can put all your heals in your ***.
AV - your team has 5 pvp geared healers, enemies have 2 pve geared healers. Noone of your 10 DKs has ever heard of "Death Grip" , the enemy 2 pve healers make x5 your heals. And when enemy DKs know how to grip, you get pulled once, twice, gratz, you are between 20+ enemies, the porn starts.
AB, your 10+ group caps 2 bases and goes straight to the enemy spawn and you wait, nobody knows wtf are you waiting, but since you are healer you stick to the big group, to heal them, to wait with them for something.
As a healer in any game you are support, thats why noone likes to be healer. Killing enemies in bgs clears you the way for the objectives, but when noone takes them whats the point?

Exactly!
I agree, thats why if you run premades with skilled players guild or friends you get to have more fun and they will play as a team should.
Very good reply such things will always happen in this game,
In wsg is nice to cap for 1-0 or 2-0 nnd hold the flag with team so you can farm xD i always liked to farm my enemies to show supremacy o.O ;D,but at the same time its all about team and win,so objectives priority then the rest.
People have different goals in bgs. Not everyone cares about objectives and winning, alot of bg heroes just wanna kill stuff. There isnt any private server around where u can see any objective-based bgs. Try rated bgs in retail if you wish so.
I don't mind any team failure as long as we beat the opposite team, we will come up with something eventually and force the randoms to do stuff.
The only team failure that is really annoying is when (Horde) your team wins middle fight in AV and then goes left of Balinda bunker instead of going right and up their graveyard.
We basically win the fight then let them all through mid and they capture our towers first so we have to go and def, most likely kill our mini as well.
Then no one goes to defend either and when they die they spawn back in cave, causing you to lose AV most likely.
