Because that would nullify the other ways to get those items. You want this mount? Instead of farming this rep, or this instance... just farm gold and buy it. You want that gear? Just buy it! Why bother doing a raid?!
A gold sink can't be something you can obtain in other means. It has to be something that adds no value to the economy, but something people will use... E.G Transmog
Ofc. Mounts, gear and stuff like that was just an example. But buying gear/mounts and so on for 100k-200k each would be a big gold sink. Just trying to get an example out there that is different than rate change and gold squish. Since im obviously not happy with it.
The transmog and lottery is a nice idea, wouldnt be something that adds value to the economy as u say.
The Only way to fix the economy is to Delete Every ounce of gold, every last bit of it anything else is a waste of time. Would they do this? Nope too much QQ will happen. As for the lottery thing when it was active alot of people never bothered with it, the people that did were already so stupidly rich that spending 200k on tickets was nothing when they were selling boe's for 20-50k a pop back then.
The gold 'squish' will accomplish 1 thing, MASSIVE inflated prices on everything.
New XP rates and Gold rates wont match same issue of noobs leveling and cant afford spells unless go begging.
Oh and rep's i wonder why people decided to level on Icecrown to begin with, oh yeah not spending weeks on 1 thing just to get an enchant.
There's a reason Old lord was 1.5k pop at peak times, The 'hardcore' players get bored as soon as its done, and last i checked buffing HP isn't a skill check its a ****ing Gear check i wonder why lordaeron Shop is so expensive...
