If the priest actually pressed need, he should have been banned too. But "needed the item" could also be just a way of saying that the priest wanted the item, not that he specifically pressed "need" on it.

DK frost, in that time ive have some bad purple neck with int just to be able log in to heroic dungeons and then the blue one dropped and pawn said its better, i dont blame the addon im just dumb that i dont know the right stats

Frost DK you say? I admit, that I don't know anything about death knights in general, so a more experienced player can come here and shed some light on what's wrong. But it's surprising for me how this guide marks STR as a good stat for frost DKs and, yet, you got banned:

You sure it wasn't a tank neck or something? Because frost dk shouldn't be banned for rolling need on a STR dps item if he didn't have a better item.
