1. and this very toxicity is exactly why warmode was introduced...and what a great change it was.
Great change maybe for people who didn't want to realm transfer to a non-pvp realm. It was disastrous in the long term for anyone who actually gave a damn about wpvp.

  2. Gankers can be countered by using brains.
Avoiding ganker is not a counter.

What did he do to counter ganking?
OP said he tried few places to level up, and probably died at every one of them.
How else he can "counter"? Beg on general and waste his time?
Casual players have much less time than hardcore ganker, average casual will have
like 30-60 minutes game time, hardcore player can wait in single spot for hours.
Now imagine that he gonna get ganked 10 or more times, most likely he will use all his time for spirit walking.
I understand that server won't change but that doesn't mean we have to bash new players
and wave them with "Deal with it."

I am a casual player who ganks and does wpvp mostly. I only play when I’m at work in between work (I work from home). I can say although I have been stalking and ganking different spots that are my favorite quite a lot and have met/fought a lot of other alliance/horde gankers, almost always everyone will let the low levels pass by safely. There are scumbags who kill them occasionally, but almost never repeatedly. Level 80 killing level 80 is farming honor and honorable kills and playing the game of Warcraft. People who don’t have time for Warcraft should probably play Minecraft or some other game.

  4. I tried to get my dad to play Warmane and I looked forward to running dungeons with him. However he couldn't get past the fact it's a PvP realm. Even though Warmane is free, even though Blizzard doesn't have a Wrath server anymore, he would rather pay $15 a month to play a Blizzard PVE server.

I just want to play Wrath with RDF and I'm enjoying playing on the Lordaeron server for the most part. But I've been killed by alliance characters with skulls for their level so many times. Like someone said it's mostly been on roads, but you can't always avoid roads and many times I've been killed while talking to a quest NPC.

Just today I was killed waiting for a escort NPC to respawn. A rogue backstabbed me while talking to the NPC. While there is no death penalty - you don't drop items, cash, or lose XP. You just lose time. But it's still annoying when you're trying to do quests and all it does is make me want revenge.

Someday when I reach level 80 I'm going to go visit the alliance newbie zones and gank newbs, kill thier quest NPC's, and grief them just like I've been griefed every day I've been playing as a horde newb.

and the wheel keeps on turning.

"Dad" dislikes PvP realm (I assume due to wPvP/ganking), and what their spawn decides to do? Yeah about that..
You complain about ganking, and what you decide to do? Yeah..

  6. I feel you, while you're low level go try the Random Dungeon Finder option. It's especially viable for Icecrown server which has 7x experience gain rate with a bonus for completion of the instance. I almost exclusively leveled to 80 this way while playing healer classes. At least that way you can stay out of of the PVP areas of the game until you feel ready.

  7. 1. Don't play at prime time
    2. Spam in global chat for help (this is what I do. People get sick of the spam eventually and come help

I'm along the lines of locking down questing hubs being griefing, even Blizzard started doing something about it on PvP realms back in Wrath. I get doing it for 15 to 30 minutes, but anything more than that is quite ridiculous - especially when it's a Hunter pet stationed there.

But there's not much you can do, this problem will be MUCH more prevalent on Icecrown (I play on Lordaeron). This is the biggest wrath server with acceptable scripting, all others are dead, dying or closed down - you're just going to have to deal with it.

  8. Gankers are actually a bunch of chickens. I was leveling my char in Booty Bay, there were 3 lvl 80 full wrathful chars, 2x warriors and 1x DK, I came on my mage 80 and killed them. Guess what, they had to call their friends to join them so they could attack me, all of them are from Wicked PvP guild.

  9. This is exactly how WoW should be. Stop crying about it.

  10. Turn off PVP on onyxia TBC release - PLEASE

I'm new to Warmane. I was prepared to stick around and donate the sub fee instead of paying Activision to play retail or Classic, but it's exactly as I feared. As soon as you get to a PVP zone, ganking is incessant. Horde players are camping Lakeridge, Darkshire, and Menethil for hours at a time. That's not an exaggeration. Two players have been camping Redridge off and on for three hours today. There was another player camping Darkshire for just as long yesterday. They kill the FMs and ride up and down the map, so you have to corpse run to try to get to another zone.

I already know the responses will be "It's allowed. Deal with it." or "You can quit and go back to Classic" or something like that, and I guess I'll have to. Maybe Warmane will spin up a PVE server someday. It was nice to play some true classic WoW for 20ish levels at least. Wish you guys the best.
Many will not play if horde dominate the server in TBC release. Alliance is going to be forced to dungeon lvl exclusively, not be able to farm materials, or play the game at all. MAYBEEEE having a joint horde-alliance / universalizing the auction house would help, but can we PLEASE have an option to disable PVP?......... Please.

  11. The most effective way to overcome the headache of PVP is to get good at it. Enemies will remember and avoid you.

How many is many? Onyxia has at the moment 8696 players. I've seen it reach 12k several times after TBC launch.

How can you even spout that bull crap when you know the population difference is at least around 20% (I'd argue it is worse than it shows, especially looking at blasted lands right now)?

As with all classic TBC PvP servers and most private servers (including warmane's last TBC funny enough), alliance was absolutely destroyed soon after launches, because outlands was not designed (nor was any expansion area) for world PvP, and the dominant faction stops the other from doing basic things like questing.

Either way, alliance being nuked down to 10%ish as happened everywhere else, means thousands of players likely will stop playing in the course of just a couple weeks. It is what it is.

  14. Happy to see world pvp is alive and well! Doing my share too in-between BGs/WG/questing for Loremaster.
Usually at the usual daily quest hubs, Sons of Hodir questline area, and the old world - It's world of warcraft, not world of peacetime afterall.
