Yep, you are right!
I prefer to wait TBC release and then to join, because right now about PvP (WSG/and several time had AB, mostly WSG are playing and wait a lot to join).
99% of the time you will see AFK in SW/OG and other will spam in global for selling some items or World Buffs, RDF if you are not mix (tank/heal) will take super a lot time to join!
