And let me guess, your "average iq" solution is doing everything to avoid actually questing in zones or level in boring ones.
What about people who want casual questing, hardcore, iron man or any other thing/challenge that has smth to do with actual questing experience. Or if u want to just quest in STV.
This is just a bad server choice for that. Simple. I dont know whats their even to argue.
Then go play on Anniversary with extremely slow X1 leveling and see how that goes for you. I'll save you the trouble and tell you world PvP is very active. It isn't every once in a while at all, you're getting attacked by players all the time and many times in very remote places. That's expected behavior on a WoW PvP server. I think I was ganked about 20 times before level 35 which isn't even half way. Here on Icecrown though with X7 leveling I'm lucky to get attacked a couple times, most players just ignore you. I leveled a toon recently and my first PvP confrontation was in Hellfire Peninsula, but I was paladin so I just bubble hearthed lol. That was it. Other private servers there isn't even a population to attack you so you can rule those out as well.
What are you even trying to say. U give yet another pvp server example and showcase why that would be bad option for leveling enjoyer.
Theres no pve options on warmane for whatever reason, so literally only option is playing somewhere else with pve option.
If u enjoy getting camped or camp urself - good for you. Indeed the right choice is playing on pvp server. Im just saying not everyone is like that. Amd theres no alternative here on warmane for people like that.
I've leveled several alts by questing mostly. Few dungeons to spice things up, not many in the end.
Naturally questing/leveling challenges aren't going to be fun in PvP realms in any game, what did you expect? Normal, or "casual" questing is perfectly fine. You get killed twice by same person, do you expect him to let you go the third time? Come back later. Some zones are PvP hotspots, and should be treated as such. Going there to level up is a risk you have to consider.
I thought you were speaking generally. If you want to argue PvP vs PvE server then that answer is easy. PvE servers are the less popular choice. Having one separated here likely wouldn't work. I would bet the server could never retain a player base to continue existing and eventually die for lack of activity, but also it could severely damage the other servers here stealing much of their player base. That's a good enough reason to not even consider it.
Blizzard servers have that option because of massive population, but what I explained to you of aggressive PvP servers is the side effect. The PvP server here is not that aggressive because the player types you mention are mixed together. So while it's labeled as PvP, much of your gameplay will be undisturbed. If you are leveling on Icecrown X7 then it's hardly a variable anyway. I've played tanks and healers without ever leaving a capital city just by spamming RDF. You do five quests and you've leveled out of a zone already. It's shocking this discussion even comes up.
Idk why this keeps being looped backed to romantisizing pvp realm or saying that its possible to reach max lvl doing mostly zone questing.
1. You just admitted questing/lvling challenges not going to be fun in any PvP realm. Hence, suggestion to play somewhere else on pve server.
2. You once again are pointing towards workarounds on pvp realm lvling, when point is on pve you wouldnt need to bother with that at all.
I, like most people, play warmane for easy to access and active wotlk raiding. But for people who want lvling experience then thats, once again, baaad server choice.
You don't need to bother with workarounds much here at all. When people say that they basically refer to Stranglethorn Vale, Hillsbrad, Hellfire Peninsula and Borean Tundra. Probably some of the most overplayed and least interesting zones.
I love the PvE lore side of the game and I've achieved 3000 quests many times. Few players ever experience what the full game has to offer. If I were recommending leveling areas and a true PvE experience then I wouldn't put those zones on the list. If the intent of a PvE environment is just leveling without getting killed by another player then I think that misses the point.
I always enjoy questing through PvP hotspots because it adds a sense of danger, and I think that's cool. It feels like a real wilderness. I never had any issues with getting ganked. Being killed once in a while never bothered me. It takes less than a minute to respawn, and I have never experienced a corpse camp.
Players who complain about this mostly have a skill issue and are crybabies. Using main roads or common routes (like the road to ZG) and expecting players of the opposite faction to /wave at you instead of killing you is next level delusion.
Yeah, ganking in zones like Stranglethorn is a staple of WoW since pretty much Vanilla.
Is it annoying? yes, no question.
Can we do something about it? No not really, pussies that can't win against their own lvl players will always be a part of the game, best option is to relog into a main with all the BiS suppa kewl GS 148866642069k gear, gather some lads and go gank the gankers.
And as others mentioned, the other solution is to quest and level your characters in less popular zones. Arathi->Hinterlands->Felwood->Winterspring are my go to personally for vanilla zones.
Yet strangely this exact scenario I've had far more players ignore me than do anything. Probably every time I've rode down to Booty Bay I've seen someone on the road and nothing.
Same, gankers usually come when you're doing quests, fighting a mob or gathering mats.
Emphasis bold, people saying it isn't that deep are absolutely right, it isn't that deep, children (mental or literal) crying out for attention is as old as time.
No, we just like to kill players like in every other PvP game. It's not that deep.
You miss the most powerful solution of ganker problem.
DUNGEON FINDER.
Literally you just enjoy chill dungeon and jolly co-operation with many fellas, getting tons of EXP, many cool blue quality items, all goodness. Ganker free, just perfect.
I never had any problem with gankers in STV or any similar zone simply because i didnt even put my foot there, i was just sitting in random inn in random capital just to get rested bonus exp and just spammed random dungeon after random dungeon and from 15 lvl to 58 lvl its just insanely fast. You can do 58-68 on rdf, a bit less exp but still works nicely, and boom more gankers avoided.
