Get a pair of fake hands that look real, cover it in corn syrup w/ red dye mixed in, and mail it to her with a note out of newspaper clippings saying "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SHOP LIFT"
How old is your sister ?
Not your age.
So, she might be 18? :]
Jk, if she's really young you should scare the **** out of her by pretending that she's going to to jail for stealing.
The real question is, Why did she steal? That is a mistake so many people do with their child. Never looking into the problem.
Instead of punishing her for stealing, try to find out the reason she did that, and work from there. I don't feel like opening a whole psychology class here but Gabrantus, if you want to know more, do send me a PM.
Killed off Thrace in 3 turns, been pumping Pontus and Seleucid cities full of spies and assassinating their diplomats. Haven't been able to take down one of their generals yet though, but I'm starting to mobilize my army to move over there.
Eygpt is growing into a super-faction as well, will be fun whenever I get around to fighting them but I'll start attempting to sabotage their production facilities soon to stunt their growth a bit. Maybe even help out Numidia, try supplying them some money or even units to repel the Egyptians.
Spoiler:Show
Anyway, how's life? Seen any good movies lately?
It's actually really simple. She's a little princess whose selfishness has almost no bounds. The proper thing to do is to purge that selfishness out of her, but I'm not really sure how to do it.
Talking with your parents would be a good start. After all, they supply her with everything she asks. Are your parents open minded and sympathetic? You might work together with them to properly raise your sister. I assume she is pretty young. Spoiling children is never, absolutely never a good idea.
She's the fifth child, so they're not too energetic over keeping her in check. They had a pretty long conversation about stealing. The problem also lies in that the methods used to teach the first three children of this family manners are now illegal.
The world itself may teach her in time, but I wonder if it'll be too late by then. Still, we're improving. More things are prohibited from her, and she doesn't get her will through in everything.
Wow, big family. By methods of teaching, you mean corporeal punishment, yes? Call me savage, but corporeal punishment should be a viable method of teaching menace-children discipline and a few lessons in life, of course, applied only where 'tis called for.
Not talking about your sister here, which is obviously part of a caring family, but a child will not learn the wrongs of stealing by prohibiting the internet or the TV for a few days.
Have you even asked her why she did it?
Some people always see the worst in their relatives, they jump to conclusions and assume they know everything. I don't know your sister, so this may not be the case and she could actually be 'selfish' but there may be something going on with her that she's keeping a secret.
You should talk to her, nicely, with an open mind.
I completely disagree with you. Physical punishment, in any form, is wrong. It doesn't do anything. All it does is makes the kids distant and hate their parents. Maybe when you were a kid it was fine, but in today's society, parents take things too far, and it's just plain wrong.
Sorry but I disagree. :P
In today's society, parents don't do **** in most cases, and in the rest they're bitter people that never wanted children in the first place, so they take it out on their offspring.
I know your relationship with your parents is distant and hateful, but they're not using physical punishment correctly. It's most likely excessive and sadistic punishment, which makes you think of the concept as something that would never work. I, however, was lucky enough to have parents that knew how to use it properly. It's a very powerful learning tool; the current generations just don't know how to apply it.
"Mommy GIVE ME AN IPHONE!!!! *commence crying*"
Modern day parents: ok honey whatever... <- they give in
My parents would have said no, and possibly grounded or spanked me when I got home. That's good, because it'll actually get the lesson through my head. But nowadays, people give their kids whatever DA FUQ they want, or they deprive them entirely.*
What 8 year old needs an iPhone anyway? Why should an 8 year be playing CoD anyway? This generation... /facedesk
*there are a few exceptions of course, but this is 95% of society.
Went kinda off topic but you get the point. Physical punishment isn't abusive or ineffective if used correctly.
Just think when you will become father? I guess you will do gaming till then? If your kid says he also want to play or somthing like that, would you say no?
Society is changing, and that change is good.
at least to a kid i wont give him an ipad or iphone, is too muhc money for such little hands, .... ill just say im not freaking rich, deal with it!.....i can get something which can do the same functions with less price..XD (and not made on "f" china)
