Those are the important criterials on which the upcoming account perk system will be based on. Ranks separate to offer separate unique bonuses, determined by in-game activity (previously vote site activity), join date and donation contribution. This will be a very extensive system that we will provide more information about in the warmane.com/devlog as we progress.

Anyways I have noticed 2 problems on the new website. One major and one minor spelling mistake.

First problem is a spelling mistake here. I believe it should say" to prevent unauthorized access" instead of authorized.



Second problem is a very serious one. This has to do with the security of the players account.
As of right now the account panel shows the players registered email address. This is a problem due to an option on both the old website and the new website which allows any user to change the account password as well as the email address which allows someone to completely hijack the account.

Old website used to allow the player to change their email address on one basis, that he knows the old one. This is good but the problem here is that email is accessible to anyone who got access to the account now.

Also as you can see on this picture below, in order to change email you don't even need to know the old one.



So in short, "Current password" should be changed to "Current Email Address" and then remove the option to see the email address in the account panel.

I also understand that people should have authentication on their accounts but some people may still not have it. Especially kids with poor English and do not really understand how this feature works. Thus changing these things does more good than harm.

2) If you don't share your account, you don't share your information or don't visit phishing websites, you are abiding by the TERMS OF SERVICE and thus your account should be permanently safe and in good standing.

3) ACTIVATE TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.

Personally, i'd prefer all compromised accounts to be banned pending review.
We have algorithms to use to determine if an account is shared or compromised but never used them due to the amount of accounts it will affect, and this is the primary reason emails will remain permanently in view now. If you notice your account has suspicious activity, report it.

If you have a desire to share your account - and trust who you share it with, setup two factor auth and both use the same secret(google)/email(email).

We will not be responsible if your account goes up in smoke from a 3rd party though, keep that in mind.

I do not trust anyone that well on the internet. For me it wouldn't be a problem at all if he decided to delete everything. I wouldn't care at all since it's a loss-loss for both. Only thing that would make me furious would be if he actually managed to hijack it completely. The feeling that he actually plays on your character and you cannot do anything about it really sucks so I will stay away from that from now on :D

We are thinking about what you've said and noted it, we may implement a master key system on accounts on the warmane site, allowing a user to "lock" the information/email/password with a master key, so it cannot be changed unless unlocked.
