Sasuke wants to be hokage now?
Everyone said that Naruto vs Pain had the worst animation in Naruto history ..... I actually liked it :P
definitely is not dead..... but i wonder if it will last long...............
It'll be around for awhile. It's most likely going to be the next big thing actually. I give it another year or so until Dubstep is constantly on the radio.
And the reason why genre's "die" is because the moment they hit the radio, it's over. People don't really dig deep when they're searching for music. They usually just listen to the radio and if they like a song they'll buy it or download it.
When artists start off they usually have nothing and that is when they normally produce their best music. Because they want to be known. They want to get big. But once they start playing big venues they start teaming up with producers because they're getting lazy or their manager is telling them that if they want to be even bigger they HAVE to listen to these producers.
And this goes for most genres. Many artists and bands in general just get lazy and say "**** IT, WE'RE DONE" and just hire producers and song writers.........Look at Aerosmith (Steven Tyler is such a **** sucker). And has anyone noticed how there hasn't been a musical "legend" in the last decade?
1950s had Sinatra, Elvis, Miles Davis
1960s; Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan
1970s; Elton John, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin
1980s; Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, U2, Queen
1990s; Tupac, Biggie, Nirvana, U2
I know I'm forgetting a lot more artists and bands but I'm just trying to keep it short.
And what did 2000s have? Eminem, Coldplay and some other artists/bands that were around for a year or so and just completely disappeared? Artists now, LOVE the fact that they don't have to do ANYTHING but sit back and let people write their music. But the reason why I love the fact that Dubstep became so popular is because it really introduced people to Electronic Music in general.
You can incorporate SO MUCH into Electronic Music. It doesn't just have to be random synths that you pull off of a "synth library" that you bought for 150 dollars. You can easily incorporate real instruments which is something many people don't understand. There are artists out there that use real instruments in their songs when they record and I truly believe that the next legend will probably be an artist that produces mainly Electronic Music.
And because of that, Electronic Music will not die for MANY years to come and Dubstep also will be around for many years to come. Dubstep may crash and burn but you'll always have the small group of artists that produce music because it's what they enjoy and not because it's something they want to get rich off of. And this also goes for all genres.

I don't think of electronic music as a genre.
I think of it as a different writing style.
People get all **** whether or not you used a real instrument to play something, because if you don't just accidentally play it while jamming then it must not be from the heart and must not have any real soul in it.
It would make more sense that electronic music would because then you're sitting down making it exactly how you want and envision it in your mind, where the actual art is.
But yeah I also record with real instruments when possible, because you can't fake reverb if you want it right. Has to have an earthly atmosphere.
>eminem and coldplay completely disappeared
Why not Moby? Someone who actually hasn't been big lately.
The stories are usually weak. It's just porn and relationship simulators, don't fool yourself.
I'm sure people already know you can incorporate "real" instrument sounds, and that's the difference from a musician and a artist. You don't need to know how to play a guitar, i'll just let this computer generate the sound for me. I don't really like that. Unless you mean that the artist themselves can play an instrument and not create it from a computer.Originally Posted by Lollerskatez
Sure, dubstep may have made EM more noticeable, but, EM has been popular for awhile now.
There is so many popular electronic artists/groups.
Eminem didn't really disappear. He went down hill after Marshal Mathers LP/Eminem Show.
So he faded slowly. Hue.
2000 was only 13 years ago. There are still many artist then, that are still making music now. They can be called legends in due time.
2000-2010 also had Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, just to name two. They will be legends. We just don't see them by that standard now until in the far future.
Electronic music has been around for a really long time man... Like a real long time.Originally Posted by Lollerskatez
How is that Dubstep crashing and burning then? If people are still making the music? And people still listen to it? It may not be as popular later, but that doesn't mean its dead.
They may not want to get rich off of it, but I'm as hell that they want to get paid for their music that they make.
It's not as simple as you think. You can't just pluck in random settings and have a computer replicate a sound that you have in your head. If an artist can play instruments and compose music without the use of a computer, that's great. Does that mean he's going to compose better songs? Absolutely not.
If you rather use a computer to compose with, do it. Why settle for something that you're not comfortable with or just doesn't work? Does your lack of skill in playing instruments mean that you can't compose "good" music?
I may be misunderstanding what you posted here so please tell me if I am =P.
Oh I know lol. Dubstep itself has been around since the late 90s I think.
I don't see Kanye as a legend at all and you do have a point. It has only been 13 years. But, in the future will these "legends" be as appreciated as the past legends?
By crash and burning I mean that it wouldn't be NEARLY as popular and loved as it is now. Not necessarily dead but kind of forgotten. Obviously there will still be people producing the music and listening to it but I think it'll just be forgotten and then slowly work its way back up.
And obviously artists want to get paid for what they do. It's what they love to do. Who wouldn't want to get paid to do something that they absolutely love doing? But when money gets involved, artists just get lazier. They've made it. They play at big venues, people love them. What is left for them to work for?
For many artists they don't care at that point and they just don't care about trying anymore.
Then just read them if you enjoy them. If you enjoy something and it doesn't harm anyone, anyone judging you for it is just dumb.
Stop worrying about what other people think about you, it's silly.
You can make good music with whatever you make. I'm still unsure whether to call Electronic Music, music. I still put thought into it.
But, no. Lacking the knowledge and skills of how to play an instrument, doesn't mean someone can't make good music.
Yeah, dubstep has been around for awhile. Its completely different to what it was then, and is now.
High school dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation are all really good albums and t
he story of it is good. Kanye's new stuff isn't what it used to be.
I'm not sure. The legends of hip-hop aren't that old. Hip-hop is still young.
As long as the artist left behind amazing material, I say they will be as much appreciated as the older ones.
I don't think dubstep will be forgotten. People will still listen to what is released now, which will be called "old stuff" in the future.
You're not losing much.
