I personally wish warmane wouldn't have allowed all items to be purchased. I think they should have allowed heroic dungeon gear and older pvp gear. This giving you at least something to work for.

Since Sirenthia didn't ask for all of your boring opinions about which realm is better....
Lordaeron: Progression server with 1x rates
Icecrown: PVE/PVP server with 5x exp/proffs/reputation rates and 7x droprates
There ya go
Drop x1
Profs x2
Gold x5
XP x7
The amount of insecurity from Icecrown players in this thread is completely hilarious, I really don't understand why people feel the need to belittle a large chunk of the population simply because they wanted to come back and enjoy the game we all love and play in a state that was closest to BlizzLike.
On the flip side, Lorderon elitists are a cancer and they deserve to be ridiculed because of how stupid they make the whole playing population look.
Both servers have different appeals and I completely understand how some people really do not want to go through any reputation or level grinding because of the amount of time they have already invested into private servers and retail, and that makes them no better or no worse than the people who play on Lorderon.
I myself have not played any private servers before and have not played WoW properly since Wotlk retail so Lorderon really appealed to me because I could soak up the levelling experience, learn my class at a good pace since I had been so out of practice and enjoy all the little satisfactions that I remembered from my previous time playing.
We are all playing the same game, you are all nerds to me. Lorderon or Icecrown.

Thanks mate ;)
well Im reading through this thread and I think I am a weirdo.
I enjoy playing on lord as far as leveling goes, but once I ding 80 I think I will move to icecrown. best of both worlds.
This is what those elitists need to understand. This game is out for more than a decade, with WotLK being available since high school for most of us. It's like this - mate, I've already farmed those reps and items and everything on retail dozens of times, why do you think you're a better player only because you're willing to do it one more time on a private server? Sheesh...
And this is the main reason I see for playing on that realm. Sure, if you haven't experienced WotLK and are a relatively new WoW player, then by all means Lordaeron is the better option, yes. But if you have done it all a dozen times, then what does that realm actually offer? Nuttin'
^^ This.
But also I wanted to go to Lord because there's more better players in general, Lets face it, the x1 rates DO scare away the newbies but the drag of goin trough the leveling to get atleast 4-5 alts though (since I cant stand playing 1 class more then a couple of hours) is to much, hell even 1 toon to 80 feels like forever when you have 9 hours of work each day and 2 hours to play.
On retail I teamed up as resto shaman in rdf all the way to lvl 80, took me 4 days and it was the most fun Ive had in WoW, while that have been taken away on lord and global gets spammed with everything from heaven to earth, that also requires more time to find a group and its just tedious.
Lordaeron - 1x XP rate, 1x Money, 1x Profession, No RDF, buffed WoTLK raid
Icecrown - 7x XP rate, 5x money, 5x Profession, RDF, normal WoTLK raid
Personal opinion :
I chose Lordaeron due to missing the WoTLK retail ship. It's technically my first WoTLK experience and I wanted it to be as close to retail as possible. I didn't count for the buffed raid so there's that. The guild I'm in is more roleplaying-centric and most of the members (not including me) is still in levelling phase
I tried Deathwing before it merged with Ragnaros. I didn't like the levelling boosts and my gears can't keep up, so I didn't stay for too long.
I'm not gonna compare the community, although I can say that Lordaeron heroic groups prefer 3.5k gs fast-running, gold beggars etc. but on the other hand they can also be helpful if they're in the mood and most of non-heroics are pretty much chill.
I'm not going to say much about PvP state since I'm the type who lets the Horde live, runs away when engaged (ended up getting farmed like a daily quest mob, lol), only jumping in when some friend of mine got harrassed. Alliance seems to control Wintergrasp often though. Global boasting and the WG buff across Northrend suggest that.
