I would say the danger of combat rogue is his partner, with all the ccs combat has(silence kick, low cd no cost long af gauge, 9 sec kidney) pair that with something like a shadow priest
What about Fear > Shadow Dance > Sap? Shadowstep > Kick? Its true that combat increases some of the rogue's cc duration but if the Rogue is getting kitted it won't be a danger at all. And again, Shadow Dance will also increase Rogue's CC with a sap or an additional stun/silence and shadowstep is really THAT important :p
yup, i completely agree that sub is dominating spec(especially with 0 skill khalets), most of time in arenas its not the problem of me getting kited when i play combat(people rarely target rogues it seems), its more of a problem of target switching and saving my teammate with endless damage and healing other classes have, combat falls apart if it's unable to receive a good income of combo points, a lot of choices have to be made, most of the time its should i kidney or should i do damage, both options a lot of times seem appropriate, but combo points income is just too low.. well of the good side of things ccing someone in a duel for 30 seconds is fun and not letting those pesky druids to root dot u is a nice experience indeed :)
I think it depends of the comp you're playing, if you go Retri/Rogue I completly understand why you're not getting targetted, but in the other hand if you play Thug or RM I can actually target Rogue if I'm able to full bleed him since hunter and Mage can kite me forever and I can simply LoS them.
Well i tend to get a squishy partners these days like spr or even ele shammy, not like im going r1 with combat or anything, but overall experience with spec itself is pretty enjoyable, seems like blizz wasn't putting all the hopes into sub only. Shadow seems to be working really well with combat, due to how much time i can give it to cast and additional low cooldown ccs with no diminishing returns overlapping seems nice, however rogue/hunter or double ret tends to be problematic due to burst and in r/h case hardly avoidable ccs(not always u can avoid scatter with sw:death and that's pretty understandable). Shadow seems to be one of the best partners I've seen soo far for combat. Ret and ench works well too, but you would be heavy kiteable soo that would be a problem
