1. Hello,

i got a problem with the character trade, my char with karazhan set is estimate at 247coins, the same class i actually use with t6 (hyjal/bt) is estimate at 147 coins (equipment only ofc), so there is my situation, i want to sell the first char less than 100 coins because actually, i think its a fair price, so what can i do? In my point of view, i need a little bit more freedom about the price to let me make for a fair deal.

delete gear until the price is where you want it.

  3. ofc i know that solution , but im not lookin for that kind of advice here:

The subject is " Buying/Trading Chars needs a rework" and how T4 value > T6 value with shop estimation????

The calculation, as has been explained hundreds of times by now, is done based on the cost the items have in our Marketplace. Lower items are costlier in general because they are used only as fodder for transmogrification or the like, and vanity is a luxury, so the whole thing follows that standard, no matter the expansion. The only way a "rework" would make characters with lower gear cheaper is if we changed the coin costs in our Marketplace, and I don't see that happening for the reasons already exposed.

It seems to be opposite for latest TBC items because they are not available on store yet. Last available tier has lower coin prices on character trading then lower tier gear.

Edit: Not exactly opposite but T6 gear minimum price is way too low from what I have seen in this and other threads. Lower gear set minimum prices have not changed since they were released as far as I know but T6 gear minimum price is suddenly much cheaper than previous sets.

That's how it works on the other expansions - and why people complain. The highest gear is cheaper than the lower tiers, for the reasons I mentioned.

I edited the post since I kind of missed the point while writing it. I have never seen this issue on wotlk. There are complaints that lower tier gear is too expensive to justify buying it, since it has to be replaced with BiS gear later anyway, but it has never been more expensive than BiS gear. A post from this thread shows an example:

    Hello,

T4 character was 247 coins while it was the current content and it's still 247 coins. T6 char is 147 coins. That's close to BiS gear from what I understand. On wotlk a char that has close to BiS gear would have a minimum price of at least 300-350 coins. 1-2 tiers lower gear would be 200-250 coins. On TBC T4 gear minimum price (~250 coins) seems normal but T6 suddenly drops to ~150 coins, which seems like an error in item valuation because they are not available on store yet. I don't think it was done intentionally and it goes against the purpose of minimum prices if new gear set is released and its price is way lower than the old one was. Minimum prices are high not to undercut store prices too much. But T6 char minimum prices seem to undercut similar item store prices by more than 50%.

  8. Ah I see what you mean. I think someone had pointed that out in the past and it was forwarded already, but I'll do so again.

  9. I cant see any reason why there should be a minimum price at all. Simply raise the "tax" to a certain degree if you want to burn some coins (forcing people to buy new). I am trying to sell a PVP char with Gladiator Set and it sais 153 coins minimum. That. Is. Ridiculous.

It is completely impossible to sell a char atm. Have there been any char sales with low equipped chars in the last months? I doubt it.

I can see why you want to keep those minimum prices... people will buy in your shop and not from other players. But to be honest, the current system is so incredible expensive that you could also remove the service "trade characters".
